Overheard a conversation between a franchise territory manager and a franchisee. His area straddled AB/SK.
Said SK reminded him of AB in 08 and prior. Biggest difference he sees is AB clients too used to money and using a lot of debt. SK clients all cash and lots of it.

Mustard, You forget, these oil companies pay huge sums , up front, for the right to drill these crown lands via the crown land sales. Also, no guarantee they will hit oil so huge risk. Royalty free period fair IMHO.

And they set it up when resources Prices were LOW. So when resource prices go Way Up the companies are lapping this up like cats on cream. No surprise.

You still got paid your lease $. Like farming,
making a living from oil isn't always cut and

My point is most if not all of the NDP candidates have
never met a payroll, written a business case or
understand financial statements. While there are
exceptions, you wouldn't hire these people to run your
business so why would you give them the cheque
book to the provincial treasury?

Even if we were a "wee" province in the Calvert years.
