    Stealin Grain

Has anyone ever stolen any grain, other
than grain companies a course? Grain is a
commodity that is so cumbersome, thieves
won't even take it. Banks should invest
all their money in grain, then they
wouldn't have ta have vaults eh!!!

Actually canola theft quite common in our
neighbourhood. At least one report per year

A few years ago we had a guy who carried a number of barrels in the back of his truck. He would steal a small quantity of canola from different farmer's granaries, (but not enough to be readily noticed), and peddle these barrels of canola to elevators in towns a ways from his home town. He would tell the operators that he had just cleaned out some residue from his bins...accounting for the fact that the canola was in barrels.

      True story.

Have heard of it a few times. One guy they even used his auger and bin sweep to empty his canola bins, while he was away on holidays. They did it right before a snowstorm to cover there tracks, the guy never even knew he had been robbed until he went to sell some canola.

I see no one has stories about stolen wheat....guess the premium the CWB has been getting us doesn't make it worth it. I have been growing wheat since 1980 (except 1990 - 94). The CWB has never allowed me to make a decision on when to sell it, how much to sell and for how much and where to sell it so really they have stolen my wheat.

Choice2U: I believe they sold the wheat on YOUR behalf...right? They didn't physically buy your grain...they assisted in the marketing...right?

Canadian law didn't recognize a theft of wheat...right? Was the CWB charged with theft?...NO? Then why are you accusing them of theft? Did they auger the grain from your bins without your consent? If you helped with the grain theft then you should be charged with abetting. In that case are you any better than the CWB in this regard?

You must have received cheques which you cashed. Did you not agree with the payment when you endorsed the cheques. Did you write a protest under your signature saying that you were coerced into signing them.

Really Wilagro does it matter. Look out on the
horizon.Look at the dust and listen to the distant
thunder. Freedom is a coming. Its building up speed
and power. Its like a big huge steam roller going to
squish the bullshit out of everything in its path and the
morning after there will be a clear fresh new day in
                Western Canada.

                  doesn't come cheap. I had a dream, I HAD
A DREAM, that didn't include shooting

                      Wilagro,

If the CWB didn't legally buy a farmer's grain, he
wouldn't technically have to legally buy it back
again. But he has to buy it back if he wants to
                      take back ownership.

There IS a legal transfer of ownership once you
                      'offer' grain to the CWB.

Don't try to be cute. The stark reality of CWB
                      ownership is ugly. Pars

So Wilagro, based on your philosophy, it is acceptable for YOU to take my grain without my consent, YOU tell me when I can deliver, YOU do whatever YOU want with it and then YOU decide what to give me for it and YOU tell me that I have choice. Everything posted here is correct except that YOU are in control of my grain.

Choice2U: Whatever...The CWB was what the farmers begged for years ago to save their sorry asses at the time. I guess it must have done the job as expected. I suppose if the majority farmers WANT to revert back to the old market system then that is their choice too.

There is no use trying to reason with trolls.

Someone who hasn't grown a crop in over 20 years but stil has a bin of barley for sale (someday) should not be debated with over the future of our industry.
