    On this Day!

They say as you get older you get wiser, this morning maybe I realize that is true sometimes.

With the way things have gone weatherwise on our farm, it has been a struggle to say the least to keep afloat financially. This year may be the end of it. At the same time we deal with this we try to raise our kids to be good people, to enjoy life, try to give them basic needs now, and try to see they will have opportunity to have it better in the future including when we are gone. We are up at 5 in the morning and go to bed near midnight in routine, with the last 2-3 hours spent worrying and calculating how we will continue to accomplish the above. Each day we continue because we believe there is some way the chance.

There are many terms and phrases thrown around on here, sometimes without completely thinking, at least I know on may part it has happenned.
On those battlefields so many years ago and today I wonder if those people politically conservative, lib or ndp were thinking that the guy or gal next shoulder to shoulder was a communist, a dictator, or a terrorist? I doubt it because the real communist, dictator, or terrorist were and are at the end of their sights of their gun barrels and shooting back not talking.

So on this day this morning I would like to thank those conservative, liberal, and ndp veterans that did what they did so that we have even this chance to continue living as we choose, chance at expressing our own view freely, and chance at trying to keep doing what we love.

What a sacrifice. To pack up your most precious
sons and daughters and know that they may not
come back. I think that every one of the freedom
fighters today would answer the call if it was
1940. Happy Remembrance Day to you all.
    honor a veteran today.

Riders: Sorry to hear about your personal struggles, I guess I don't know how good I have it!!

The rest of what you said should help put things in perspective for people. The word "freedom" is thrown around loosely and there are people who paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives so I can enjoy "real freedom".

I just wish the retail industry would observe the day with "alot" more respect. Halloween isn't over and there are Christmas decorations on shelves and ads playing on tv. If they could find a way to capitalize on the day they would, but maybe the corporate conscience gets in the way, thank God. Pretty hard to capitalize on such a sobering observance. Give it a rest. I talked with a young veteran of the more recent Middle East wars and he said that(what the retail industry is doing) is what we fought for. I guess if he is okay with it maybe I should be too, but......

It's a day of introspective reverence for those who
gave, and continue to give real meaning to the
expression, "Freedom is never free", as well as a
reminder to be on guard to thwart those
        perpetually seeking the unearned. Parsley

Makes all the bitching here about marketing pretty trivial.

Just this very forum is case in point. Freedom for
            all.

Thank a vet today. We have 3 in our family and it
starts at breakfast today. We take them treats
and new clothes. We take their medals to them
and celebrate the 11 th hour - the eleventh day -
the eleventh month in 2011. Gotta go.
