    Parsley

Do you not think if Oberg had opened his mind a little, he could have been remembered for more than a spoiled communist brat stealing other people's money???

I see Ritz retracted his comment about "stealing" but he got his message across.

Parsley: I would think a converted proboard speaker would be more interesting than an ideological zealot. I am not worldly enough to know who that may be. Best of luck in your search.

bucket, Oberg schemed to buy ships behind
closed doors without even asking if farmers
agreed to foot the bill. Oberg's communist arms
reach out to embrace the unions on the St.
Lawrence, while at the same time, his hands
reach into farmers' pockets. The way i see his
legacy unfold...... a militant bitter agricultural
        communist.

I am an ideological zealot, farmaholic, and
          pleased as old getout.

You will note, over the last decade, countless
DA farmers have converted from being Proboard
disciples to being open marker zealots.

The conversion ia stark and incoming like a
gigantic wave. Which farmer, from the thousands
of converts, would you like to hear speak? That
was my question. There are some astounding
speakers out there, with an inspiring message.
And they live alongside us! Yup. Hah Pars

There will always be holdouts. If the price of wheat in Canada rises above that of the U.S. there will be those who will say the the absense of monopoly just drove their price down more than ours.

Its great that most people are waking up though.

Perhaps you "Pseudo-Freedom Fighters" will be celebrating a "WAKE" in another year or so if things don't turn out the way you are dreaming of.

              Remember..."United we stand...divided we fall."

Wil, we can stand together. Pool together. Sell
together. Those who wish to band together,
such as a Hutterite colony does, or such as a co-
op does, will set their own rules.

The only difference is you can't throw me in jail
for not participating in the plan. Ontario can't
throw me in jail for not participating in their plan.

I've always sensed in your arguments Wil, that
you are not completely comfortable with forced
                participation. Am I wrong? Pars.

parsley: You are right, I was never comfortable with the forced participation in the CWB marketing plan but that is the way it was set up. Changes could have been made for an opt-out or opt-in clause but nothing was ever done to my knowledge...other than talk.

We may lose a valuable marketing advantage under this Con government and despite the rosy predictions of the anti-s the future may bring disappointments and even more uncertainty.

There is a lot of hype being thrown around. Time will tell and it won't make one bit of difference to me after I take my inevitable dirt nap. At my age every day is a coin toss.

Organics tried, over and over again, through
briefs and meetings and calls, and lobbying, to
have our whole industry bypass the Board.

They could have easily issued automatic export
licenses to each and every organic grower. We
are 100% identifiable via a certification system.
And have an audit system to thwart 'slippage'

The CWB was totally unreasonable according to
my judgement I found they were devious.
Unaccountable. Unfair. Lied to parliament and
growers. Arrogant. Smug. And worse, acted like
an institution that feels they are beyond the law

Imho: Their management/ boards cared nothing
for farmers. The bottom line for me was the
Wheat Board had no respect for those who fed
them. Past ministers have viewed farmers as
their personal herd to manage. IMHO

I swore they would learn the folly of their
mistakes. As did the FFJ. As did many farmers.
                    As did many farm groups.

                    And they will.

And yes, Wil, as you well realize, freedom is
                    never free. Pars.
