Well, ok cotton you like picking the stocks and riding them. Fair enough. Where does an amateur find sound honest education for trading stocks? Do I spend a weekend at some trading promo in Calgary, New York, Toronto? I am thinking more like I would like to utilize some existing (banks, or CU's. Yahoo Finance, Google Finance)stock screening software and some technical indicators to help my decisions along. Basically I would like to learn about trading and making some money with my computer habit. Facebook is only interesting for so long, then I realize I am not using the computer for work, or to provide value to my life.

Why not have a mock contest, grassfarmer vs cotton and anyone else that obviously knows alot about this stuff. Start each out with 100,000 grand to work with, show us the trades stocks, commodities etc you would do. Since this is a marketing forum for the better of all why not? Aside from alot of donated time and knowledge of course lol! Or if not simply pick a handful of stocks etc. show us how it is done. I

I guess i should elaborate. To Cotten it would be a
great idea if the real calm informed reasoning you
showed up. It seems though your alter ego always
shows up just after. Witness some of your posts in
the last few days when you talk about stock trading.
Opposite ends of the emotional spectrum in less
than an hour. Whatever i can't understand that but
being a reasonably tolerant person thats fine with
me. Its just when BTO Farmall comes out of the
tickle trunk its vulgar, coarse and disgusting.
I would look forward to learning on here. It would
be exciting

Great idea riders2010, i'll get to work just as soon as you get the 100k to me lol. Seriously though if you are interested in learning about investing you should get Sirski's email newsletter for a month - free. He tells you all the selection tools, about volatility, indicators, websites that show pertinent info. He tells you the stocks he has, the trades he has made and the gains and losses. It's really not difficult to learn - a few months of a few hours a week and you'll have a good grasp of the basics all done from your home computer. As I said on a previous post you can set up your own trial with $100k on sites like Questrade and experiment.

But....if i didn't come across as a lunatic once in a
while,what i say would be lost in the sea of thoughts.

Plus its just an internet chat room,don't take anything
to seriously,lighten up,have some fun.

On a side note physiologists are very word about
human communication via texting type because
EMOTION can not be conveyed and people take things
the wrong way.

Hobby,i follow maybe 60-70 analysts writings(even dead
ones),have dumped about the same amount over the past eight
years,those that have been wrong or say stupid things like the
krugmans and gartmans of the world.

I read maybe 40-50 hours a week,i also read sentences not
words,a useful tool i picked up in childhood,a product of having
only 1 tv station.So i'm probably pushing 20,000 hours
understanding global economics,but i do it because i love it.If i
loved farming as much i would probably be better at it,lol

Trading is not for the faint of heart nor the ignorant.Be right,sit
tight-is one the most brilliant things ever said.

I don't follow andy,i guess i'll start,if anyone can tell me his track
record and forecast predictions on a reasonable time scale,i'm all
ears.

Allis-since your new-i hate blowhards more than
anything but i'll tell you why some of these people
put up with me.

I made a prediction a few years back that wheat
would goto 20 bucks,and then it did,then i
predicted the crash,and it did.

I've also been pounding on the table for eight years
about precious metals and other commodities to
the extent i don't even talk about because people
who repeat shit over and over drive me nuts as well.
