There are 60000 farmers that received
the ballot. If half supported the CWB
they should be able to raise
    30000x$10000 each for $300,000,000 quite
easily, unless of course the isn't
    actually 60000 farmers.

I think the matter of fact here is if
the CWB comes out with a good plan there
indeed many farmers will get behind
them. Timing is good because many
producers have some cash these days. If
they blow it and don't have a good plan
they will be dead in the water.

what if the buyers don't like the idea? i see cargill is going to offer pooling. that looks like an attempt to co-opt other possibilities.

            Interesting isn't it?

Bunge and Cargill both want to offer solutions to the void Oberg left.

Bunge has said they are willing to work with other players to make it work in Canada because they have no infrastructure. CWB was 60 years ahead of them with relationships and ****ed it away.

Cargill is now prepared to offer a pooling option, again something the cwb had 60 years experience in and, once again ****ed it up.

You really gotta wonder how incompetent the cwb is.

Although you know the rule, the first generation starts the farm, the second works their ass of building it up and the third one loses it due to incompetence.(the silver spoon in the mouth thingy) Oberg reminds me of the third generation.

It still needs to be passed by the Senate and get Royal assent. It can't happen soon enough for me. Hopefully its all done before Christmas. That will make for a very happy holiday season on this farm.

my thought was that if cargill runs the pool do you really think their administration costs will be any less than the cwb? if you see them as your friend look across the fence and see how they treated canadian cattlemen back in 2003 with the phony bse crisis. this pooling move is just a way for them to gain a greater market share, bankrupt the famrer owned terminals and become more of a price maker.

                      What is Cargill's share of grain handle in western Canada? a) 5 % b) 10 % c) 20 % d) 40 %.

Cargill does not have ownership of terminal capacity in Vancouver. True or False.

A question that I am being asked to grapple with for some of the stuff I do.

What market share will the CWB have in the 2012/13 crop year?

                        a) less than 10 %.

                        b) 10 to 20 %.

                        c) 20 to 40 %

                        d) 40 to 60 %.

                        e) More than 60 %

If the CWB were to gain a significant portion of the wheat via producer
contracts and make a significant volume of sales to export/domestic
customers, then I suspect they will have a long and benefiticial life. Never
understood why some people are the biggest CWB supporters but they will
be the first ones not to use CWB services in the new world. Maybe the
theme of this thread is a way to go. Add value to stakeholder businesses
                        and they will come.

Won't they have a 62% of wheat and 51% of barley?

                          yeah, right.
