They will not be a brokerage house. Or at least that wont be their main purpose. They will take physical ownership of grain and pay other companies to handle the grain for them. Diversion agreements already exist between grain companies. The terminals will want their grain especially the Independents. From what I have heard there will be an IPO to Farmers. Sounds like this will all be rolled out as soon as the Senate passes the bill. Despite the crazy 8 spreading fear and trying to sink the ship. The crew inside are working dilligently on a plan. It will be interesting to see what they have come up with. The sooner this defeatist corperate rot of Board of Directors is removed the better.

I also expect the Producer cars and shortline railways will be a HUGE part of their business.

How are those investment groups that have rrsp land ownership working it through. Could something like that work?

Considering it seems like a lifetime to get paid from the cwb maybe those guys would invest.

Cotton you maybe understand business but you don't understand people. This may be the most outstanding idea ever but it is dead in the water before it gets going because it would be seen as something that "came out of the CWB". The ideological hatred of the CWB demonstrated on this board is not something that will be set aside by farmers in my opinion.

                      Grassfarmer

There are 60000 farmers that received
the ballot. If half supported the CWB
they should be able to raise
                      30000x$10000 each for $300,000,000 quite
easily, unless of course the isn't
                      actually 60000 farmers.

I think the matter of fact here is if
the CWB comes out with a good plan there
indeed many farmers will get behind
them. Timing is good because many
producers have some cash these days. If
they blow it and don't have a good plan
they will be dead in the water.

what if the buyers don't like the idea? i see cargill is going to offer pooling. that looks like an attempt to co-opt other possibilities.

                              Interesting isn't it?

Bunge and Cargill both want to offer solutions to the void Oberg left.

Bunge has said they are willing to work with other players to make it work in Canada because they have no infrastructure. CWB was 60 years ahead of them with relationships and ****ed it away.

Cargill is now prepared to offer a pooling option, again something the cwb had 60 years experience in and, once again ****ed it up.

You really gotta wonder how incompetent the cwb is.

Although you know the rule, the first generation starts the farm, the second works their ass of building it up and the third one loses it due to incompetence.(the silver spoon in the mouth thingy) Oberg reminds me of the third generation.

It still needs to be passed by the Senate and get Royal assent. It can't happen soon enough for me. Hopefully its all done before Christmas. That will make for a very happy holiday season on this farm.
