Did Goodale give us a vote when he rammed
through legislation to try to take away our
freedom for good? I don't remember a vote- does
anyone remember? Maybe he didn't even have
to go through the formality of legislation.

Go Minister Ritz, you have proven that you are a
man of virtue. You promised, you received the
mandate and you will deliver freedom to the
    serfs.

      Rather proves my point HFL.
By your own evidence even although almost every designated area seat has been Conservative for a long time it took achieving a majority, gained by electing Conservative MPs in other parts of Canada, to allow them to act on this election policy.
To pretend that prairie farmers felt so strongly about the cwb issue that "they" elected a majority Conservative government and gave them the mandate to reform the organisation is pure and utter garbage.

Regarding Fed Election: Maybe it wasn't so much who/what people were voting for, but against!!

The western hillbillies still hate chretien, martin, dijon, etc. We are still in an east vs west mentality out here. Any donkey could have ran as a conservative and won even if they supported the cwb. Just like any donkey could have ran as an ndp in Quebec and they did, lol. With oil owning the economic activity of the west and the conservative party, and the conservatives scaring people into believing that the liberals and ndp would implement NEP again that was the main issue that people voted against the liberals and ndp. The right nutballs have done a good job of persuading people that they are the flag bearers of western development vs working for the east or at least being under the rule of easterners. The cwb issue is a small fragment of the larger picture. I think gun control even held more voting weight than the cwb issue.

farmaholic is right, get rid of or change the cwb and get on with some positive debate to move forward, such as the suggestions cotton has put forward etc.

grassfarmer the cwb staying as is, being gone, or modified will not be any huge change to what farmers actually get for their product, but at least we can choose who is gonna screw us over, and get it done faster and not pay as much for it.

Braveheart learned the ownership lesson well.
Why would any farmer want to vote on what he
            owns?

Women could sex identify children, as did many
in China, only instead of selecting mainly boys,
we could choose girls. Raise and teach them carefully

Within 18 years, Canadian women could vote on
            a platform specifying the following:

            1. Deny all men a ballot.
            2. Give enrollment preference to women
            university applicants.
            3. 99% of the male population would be subject
to a monthly clinical visit for saltpeter injections.
            4. The remaining fluctuating 1% would be
            evaluated via womens' performance reports
tallied by arms length neutered U ofS
            professionals.

It must be this warm humid air that prompts my
imagination to bloom, but nevertheless, you get
the gist of what a vote can do for you AND to
            you.
An important exercise, unless of course, you
don't consider your digits as your own. Your
            Pars

An Act of Parliament of the whole country imposed the CWB on us and and Act of Parliament will end it's monopoly. It is a wonder how we have survived marketing Canola and feed grains outside of the almighty Board.

This year, for the first time in my farming career, I will be able to choose which crops I sell to make cash flow.

Take for an example, being able to sell 100 tonnes of durum without having to sign a 400 tonne contract, then being able to be paid in full for the 100 tonne contract.

I wish I could have been in Ottawa today for the third reading of C18. It's an historic day. It's one of those "where were you when . . . " days.

For those of you that are there, give the gov't our thanks and congratulations.

Western Canada will soon enter a new period of economic growth. I can hardly wait.

It is bone heads and know nothings that
support the overthrow of the cwb. Cafe
shop expeerts that know freedom is good,
and the cwb is bad. Comedian farmers are
just that, comedians that want more and
more challenges thrown their ways, so they
kin show everyone else how great they
                      actually r.............

Wes already lives in a free society, wit
                          democratic principles, oops thats a
mistake, we currently have a Gestapo type
                          progressive gobermont in Ottawa. The
Dicktator, learned how to govern, under
Alberties Ralphie. Governon by decree and
by regulation, rule of law does not apply
                          any longer.............
