OK I'm still a little steamed. Some of the people Pat Martin called thugs and goons had enough balls to go to jail for the principle of being able to control their own decisions on hard won property.

While Pat was counting the dimples on his tallywacker, Goodale and Easters' brownshirts were rounding these farmers up and throwing them in dungeons. Where were you then Pat?

What I'm saying is they had enough balls to know there was a law, knew in their hearts the law was wrong, and paid the consequences with loss of freedom and other costs tangible and otherwise.

But I don't care about that s--t anymore. The law has changed. It's over. But I can't stand snivelling pricks like Pat Martin who doesn't know, understand or even care about the issue, talking trash about people who have given much to attaining marketing freedom.

It's that lack of respect for a citizen by an elected official that's galling. Used to experience it from the Liberanos. There wasn't a statesman amongst them.

Was privileged to attend such a historical moment yesterday. Putting aside the frivolous antics of ill informed opposition MP's and a few stragglers of protesters that were there it was great to see a strong government in action and do what grain farmers have wanted for years. AND what the CWB has known from on going producer surveys for years too.
After the vote the group of us that went down were invited to a reception room to meet with the Prime Minister and MP's. A touching moment was seen when Prime Minister Harper personally thanked a large group of the farmers who were jailed by the Liberals. It was an emotional moment for Jim Chatenay and one that drew a strong round of applause from the rest of those in attendance.
Want to thank all those who did make the trip, and those that couldn't yet called and wrote sending support.

It was a great event Jeff!! To see the MP's clap and cheer and do the standing O for Ritz and Anderson.

Then the event in the speakers lounge was a once in a lifetime event. To be part of history with all the Old guard from the Wheat Growers that have fought this fight for over 40 years and to see the emotion in the room was something I shall forever remember. I hope that someday you all have a chance to feel emotion like that. This was something that folks like Wally Nelson and Glen McEwan................... planted the seed years ago. This was the swathing, in two weeks after royal accent, will be the harvest

@grassfarmer This was all individual farmer dollars. The CPC looks for cheques, they don't cut them. It cost my farm over 2K and two days away to see this and it was priceless.
Also deductible as a farm expense.

I know it's tough for the NFU crowd to understand but if you make a *profit* deductible expenses help you pay less tax.

After re-reading my post. about the CPC MP's clapping. It was more for us in the gallery that the MP's saw over 60 guys to fly in on their dollar. They are normally seeing union hats.

To Pat Martin the parliament security guards were doing their job. Every time someone so much as clapped once they were reminding us. It wasn't a lack of respect it was emotion.
Not one piece of paper was dropped.
The leaning on the rails was accidental. I would argue that when-ever some NDP clown made a statement that couldn't be believed someone would lean over to look who was so stupid. The false outrage spewed by some on the opposition side was over the top. At least when the govt MP's were talking they let farmers do the talking.
The Govt MP's from the East were likely clapping because, now we can move on their issues.
