What is the federal government's commitment to providing the new CWB a
fighting chance at surviving at least short term? What other choices do CWB staff
have? Will not be easy for staff regardless as the new organization will not need
all the current work force. Reality.

Interesting you went back 20 plus years in your characturization. The current CWB staff is a lot different (my experienc). All anyone can ask in life is a chance.

really well, we'll be like Oz soon, trying
        to again organize co-operation amoung
framers ta sell their grain! Open market
lectricity and gass is a really, really,
really, good example of the free open
market in Albertie (it sucks ta high
        heaven)!!!!!

I found the wheat board mentality similar to a
          cult.
Not logical but biased beyond reason.

gusty referred to the pizzeys and I recall the
frustration they had trying to move forwards with
an idea. Selling their own wheat in their bin to
the cwb and then buying it back at a loss before
they could auger it out of the same bin was
similar to what organics had to also endure

          These weren't stupid people;no, they were a
trained group of spiteful zealots on a mission
How does a new CEO mould them into useful
          productive employees? "Trust me" doesn't
          qualify as an answer. Pars

One conclusion I came to charliep was this:

CWB employees were/are only interested in the
survival of the CWB itself and they were/are not
the least bit interested in the survival of farmers.

I have no personal grudge against Any particular
employees or axe to grind. In fact they have been
civil. But I have concluded they are nommore
interested in farmer's welfare than flying to the
            moon.
The only way to change an attitude of corporate
culture is to change the people who sit in the
            chairs. IMHO.

Or would you send them on a training course,
            charliep ?...........:
Module #1 The value of the farmer in the value
            chain.

Btw ritz promised only a new wheat board. Did
he say a "new cwb with old employees intact? I
            must have missed that. Pars

The CWB employees are coming up with a plan.

What happens if the new BoD doesnt like the plan the employees come up with.

I assume the CWB is in serious negotiations with Graincos as we speak. They will need a handling agreement with someone for the time being.

In my experience with the CWB, there are some really smart people who can see beyond and there are some who will see this as the end. Most of them are in the latter group.

I agree with Parsley....there will need to be some serious housecleaning

Frauline Fitzhenry, leader of the propoganda department, should be one of the first to get the axe.
