Best of CWB bureaucrats gone wild.

One fellow on the plane was telling a story from the early 90's of how he had to apply for a permit to take home made donuts from his small town charity to a neighbouring community bake sale across the 49th.

This guy was a known "grain exporter" and customs was esp hard on him.

They made him call Winnipeg and get a export permit for the flour that was contained in said donuts. He was given verbal guarantee and then a few weeks later a letter was sent.

Truly to hear the story from his lips was much funnier, and and errors made in the re-telling fall on me.

It's funny now looking back but at the time I can't imagine the frustration.

There's a book in here somewhere. please share your own.

One young fellow on the plane did not know how the Quota system used to work.

I did not know that the CWB used to "manage" delivery on flax and canola.

Or are they just stealing more money from the contingency fund to pay for all this?

we all paid our own way, personally I used my airmiles, those who took the charter most likely paid more but with no real good connections out of Regina they had to do that. Add to that hotel rooms, meals, taxis I'd say the 55 plus group of TRUE grain farmers did support Ottawa quite well.
Hear the FCWB having a rally in Winnipeg today, tell me Must, the group of 8 who's socialistic beliefs they want to force on all of us, I bet they will be claiming their $500 per deim for a cause that dead and buried.
And that money comes right out of the pools, just when will that stop?

To those remaining socialists that are left that maybe are picking up the pieces of the monopoly; I believe in collectivism for the socialist and they should be bound by it forever while the rest of use enjoy freedom.
It was funny to see a ex cwb board member stuck beside 2 lethbridge correctional center alumini on the west jet flight. Never again will Socialists impose there corrupt values on me!!!!!!

Hahaha! Too funny! All you outboard fanatics really
amuse me. One massive crop failure or a critical crash
in grain prices and you'll all be bellying up to the Govt
for a bail out. It happens every time. Never met a
farmer who sent back a Govt payment. This is not
about the CWB, it's about industry working together to
achieve positive outcomes - like every other industry
does - associations to further their own interests.
Socialism and community of the common are two
                          different things.

pug - I can't argue with you - you have the right to
succeed and the right to fail. "None of us is as good as
all of us" - Ray Croc, founder of MacDonalds Corp.
