It is hoped both friends will show up

    Winnipeg (not so)Free Press
The Friends of the Canadian Wheat Board are holding a protest today outside a downtown Winnipeg hotel.

The protest is against Bill C-18, the Marketing Freedom for Grain Farmers Act, which organizers say is being steamrolled through Parliament and the Senate and will eventually destroy the Canadian Wheat Board. It starts at 10 a.m at the Hotel Fort Garry and runs until 2 p.m.

Organizers say federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz is scheduled to be at the hotel from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Ritz spoke at a Grain Canada conference Tuesday.

The WFP did not quote numbers. From the picture it looks like 6-7. (I couldn't figure out how to copy the picture.

The supporters garner a lot of respect when they are credited with a shouting match. I guess if you have no real argument the louder you shout the more it makes sense to one's self. As Jan Slomp from the NFU said "20 years of lies makes it real". I think we have been told lies since the end of World War two.

From the picture I assume that the "8" used pool funds and had a comfy seat inside and a free lunch.

I spent yesterday writing the Senators from Alberta and Senator Frank Mahovlich encouraging them to pass this bill and reduce the uncertainty that they will cause by delaying the passing of C-18.I emphasized that global markets are in enough flux without a group with no stake in the industry causing more stress by delaying the inevitable.
