I've been buying asian art, jade,no rugs yet but yes they
would be of great value, mom is now on the
bandwagon with buying and cataloguing our own
      depression glass,perfume bottles,china,comics,tiffany
      lamps,art,etc,etc.

Pars, you don't have any old red wing crocks for sale do
      you?

Buying original art is an amazing investment. I
purchased some paintings done by two of Canada's
most renowned artists and they've tripled or more in
value. Art seems to be recession proof. Just be careful
to do your homework and make sure it's the real deal.
Besides paintings I have several other types of artwork
but the problem becomes you get attached to the stuff
so it's not for sale. And Cott, I have a Red Wing but it's
not for sale. Don't even know what it's worth but it's so
        cool.

I'm afraid I use all my crocks cott. they are
stuffed full all fall each year. Bread and butter,
sweet, mixed, dill, sour pickles. Wild fruits.

          Sometimes bubbling. LOL. Pars

Why am I not surprised you collect art, Rocky.
Have too much artwork here, but only buy what I
fall in love with: a regular event. Vegetable dyed
hand-woven cotton tribal rugs are so exciting; Silk
rugs so elegant. From an investment viewpont,
was glad to see Fafard hit Sotheby's. Pars.

Hi Pars, I saw Fafard's exhibit at the Glenbow a couple
of years ago. Weird but unique! There are some real
treasures on the prairies that some people just
consider junk. I wish I had deeper pockets!

We showed breeding stock for years, hence....

There are some extraordinary prairie artists....
Say Rocky have you ever poked a peek at Owen
Garratt's work? He calls himself The Pencilneck.
If you want to play Santa with me for Christmas,
Rocky, and commission Klause' oil rig for me, I'll
put cookies out for you. LOL. Pars.

I should have added ...breeding stock hence the
                  Fafard herd in the cabinet.

Rocky, who's works did you buy? Pars

Hi Pars, as a matter of fact I have an Owen Garrett
limited edition print titled Harvest 1954. Bought it
at a silent charity auction. A steal!. Came with
documents. If you want to see something really cool
check out Patrick Douglas Cox through the website
of Masters Gallery in Calgary. He'd be perfect to do
a scape of Klaus's rig, but check the prices on his
work. First I'd like one of me on my motorcycle by a
shimmering wheat field, but I choked when he came
back with a quote. Those cookies would really have
                    to be special, lol!

I bought 2 Richard S McDiarmid and a Mike Svob. Not
sure they are still on the net. Have lots of pottery by
Keyes and glasswork by Johanssen. A vast collection of
MedAlta pottery including a 25 gal. pot and numerous
other things. My dream is to own a Krieghoff original.
