The study of human decision making processes is fascinating and quite complex. I've listened to a few lectures and it's mostly out of my league. I studied it hoping to analyze all the stupid things I've done. It only helped me feel better about myself. I continued to pull *****s.
Perhaps we have 'trained' or thinking decisions and 'untrained' or unthinking decisions. Learned or instinct. Most unique to us.
My 'thinking' decisions are led by my Type 5 personality - research basically. Or solid experience ie- business.
I wish I had a better handle on my unthinking decisions.
Glad that maturity has led to the end of hair-pulling after the event.

So far I think most have missed the most powerful tool for decision making of all, the ouija board.

Right now I am trying to decide where to
go sit for deer tonight. I am having a
hard time making the decision. Because
it really does not matter. I do want to
get a deer though! Maybe it does matter!
If I can make my deer hunting somehow
life or death, I am sure it would make
the decision on where to hunt tonite
easier. When I realize the game cam says
they have been coming out of the woods
about 30 minutes after legal time, what
is the point? I could stay warm and
watch a hunting show to get my jollies.
Or I could go out in the wind and freeze
my nards off in the snow. Ahh decisions,
decisions. lol

Decisions are dependent on the degree that they affect me. We all make decisions as to what we want to eat or wear or regarding prioritizing chores and other tasks. I have a tendency to procrastinate when it comes to disagreeable tasks even when I know they have to be done and nobody else is going to do them.
Its not hard to make decisions regarding the neighbours...they screw me over once...and that will be the last time as I won't give them the time of day. The one who never fixes fence will find his cattle impounded if he doesn't smarten up...that will be an easy decision to make.

Freewheat - got a solution for you, Buy a electric deer call, set it out 100 yrds from the truck. 75% chance of a good buck swinging in the shop and you stay warm and have a real good look at more than one deer. Way more interesting than watching T.V.
