OK this is hot off the presses, Cargill will get rid of 1.4% of their staff due to slow down of the world economy.
So if you have 10 at your local elevator, 1.4 are gone or wont be filled.
Ha they cant fill the positions they have at our elevator so no big whoop.
But if their cutting back wouldn't that tell you that maybe the whole grain thing is going to have issues.

I don't think your that far off on the Viagra transaction. They have cash reserves but its less than their debt. Prime company for take over.
But on Grain prices yes I bet china will clean up supply at bargain basement prices and then when a war or world is in need they will sell back. Their smarter than we are on how free market works.

I was surprised last week I could source all L150 for 2000 acres of Canola seed. Along with a 5,000 dollar rebait that I can use on free Chemical. No payment till Feb. 2012.
The 5,000 represents a 5 percent discount. Not sure if farmers that prebought can work on getting these chemical rebaits. Maybe by feb. my rebait will turn into 10,000. Paying over 10 dollars per lb of Canola seed is a little insane anyways.

No problem at all getting Canola seed just ordered our l150 and 5440. Trying for section of new Sclerotina variety but no luck so for for that many acres.
Interesting I think farmers are sitting back waiting for purchases.
