Furrow, 160 acres is too small to me,
and I am a small farmer. I think VIABLE
farms should have a vote if it came to
that. To me that would mean 640 acres.
That should weed out the fly by night,
Tax issue farmers, who really do not
depend on the farm for aliving. Unless
you depend on your farm to make a
living, why should you vote against my
right. I farm for aliving. It is all the
farm, no wife who is a teacher or nurse,
no inheritance, no fancy schmancy stuff.

If it came to a vote being necessary,
(thankfully it won't), only farmers with
a vested interest should vote. For me,
this excludes anyone with less than 640
    or 800 acres...

    Not 160, jmo. "

If you get caught up in bullshit
regarding farm size lets do it by tax
return. If we do it by size its back to
    corporation vs family farms.
Lets let anybody in the designated area
who files farm tax return have a vote.
Because honestly Ft Saskatchewan vs Oyen
    acres are not equal.
It would simplify any voters list and I
don't give a **** if you own land or
not. If you are a landlord good for you
but if you don't have farm income you
    don't have input.
Property rights shouldn't come down to a
vote but if they do it should be for
    real producer/taxpayers (I am assuming
farmers make enough money to pay taxes
    but thats another topic)

And Freewheat I don't mean to call you
out personally I just don't want this to
get sidetracked on farm size. Corp vs
    family farms etc.
Either you pay taxes as a farmer or you
    don't.

It doesn't need a vote at all. Wells just admitted that the gov't has the ability to strip that requirement and then remove the monopoly power. Simple.

Case in point- if they have had this power, why
havent they done it. I smell a skunk. For this crap
to get fast tracked to the courts and right before
a Liberal judge who could not see the writing for
the wall. How did this happen. Other court cases
wait years to be heard. Where do these fartnicks
get the pull when we have the power. Think
          about it.

Sure Wells says if that section is gone, they wouldn't be fighting THIS argument. Pretty stupid of him to
admit but I'm convinced they would find another angle, and another angle and another angle, until the
octopus has no arms left. And the farmers have no money left!

Can't the BOD just be removed and an interim board appointed? Or better yet, and hopefully as RItz says
just continue on their merry way with no regard for judges etc. and make new law!

I have a feeling Ritz is just pissed that Oberg has gotten away with sticking a finger in his eye every time
he turned around for the last few years. Maybe it's made him a little careless, maybe a little crazy, with
only goal in mind. Find an iceberg, grab the wheel and head for it!

Whichever, lets just get this shit overwith! My blood pressure is talking to me and my rights and
freedoms are so close that I can taste it.

Farm should be over a quarter to vote. But guess what their is no need for a vote pass the dam thing and lets get on with life.
Because as soon as the prices are posted all those Board supporters will be butting in front of us to sign contracts.
Just like pigs at a trough.

It will be like nazi Germany after the war, SF3. When the allies were losing early on, every German was a nazi. When the allies pushed to Berlin, they could not find one single nazi supporter on the way...
