    Wheat situation.

    So where are we.

Lots have no series a contract and there is no b
    offered.

    No appeal before Christmas.

With the courts the vote in senate will stall,
    probably.

This case will go to supreme court and will be
about , can a past government tie the hands of a
future government. And the answer will be no.

Big shitty mess and it will only hurt farmers and it
will only delay the inevitable, market choice.

    Thoughts?

I have no idea where we are. Seems the CWB will not be offering fixed prices for new crop either. Will we get any bids from anywhere or is Canada officially out of the world market? Will pig feed be worth more than bread and noodles in the store shelves again? When Jan rolls around I want to know what I am planting this year like everyone else.
I don't grow a little of everything every year. The CWB needs to stand down in my opinion. 51 percent of farmers on the new ctv poll want Ritz not to listen to the judge. CWB supporters should abide by that. The elected directors need to be replaced.
Time will tell but Jan is coming really fast. Well at least if we are out of the world markets one good thing is that markets could be at the lows anyways.

Do you really think the Senate will hold this back? I would be surprised. 2 parties that want senate reform hold 268 of 308 seats. NDP wants to abolish senate, I would think the Conservatives will be able to get the CWB bill passed with very little push back.

Just finished listening to mr weber. Not very
encouraging. Seems pretty sure it will end up at
SC where past gov cannot tie future gov will be
upheld. Means huge delays and a very big mess
for farmers. No B offered and you can not legally
sell it either. No appeal even for at least couple
months. Friends probably have enough legal
        position to stop c18.

Hope I didnt put words in your mouth. If I did,
        sorry.

Would it be faster to get rid of Section 47.1 of the present CWB Act... then recind the present CWB statute and pass C18?
SC could delay the date and make it a mess of uncertainty.

Which was why we held our noses and signed the rest of or non fixed priced wheat up to an A series. Like Mr Harper (charlie) would say "This thing aint dead until you drive a stake through it's heart and pour holy water on it"

Felt the world wheat situation may have detoriorated to the point where poorly mareted board pool contracts may be higher than the new world, however now with Autralian rains and other isuues starting to creep in higher quality wheats may be at or near short term bottoms IMHO. That said the world is still awash in feed wheats and more rains in Aus will add to that end. I do actually believe the board may offer a B series . Should it be a seperate pool in the real world yes. In the 1950's where they live not likely.

I did the same mc. 100 percent accepted of all
my number 1 wheat. Wasn't willing to gamble
cash flow on promises of a government.

Yea good idea, give your wheat to the board! I'd
rather dump it in the slough than give them more
                cash flow.

Glad you didnt put in the pool because in a falling markrt the more wheat to sell, the lower the price of the pool.

We just pulled some wheat out of the pool.
Currently feed wheat price is better than our #1
                    11.5% protein cwrs.
Think feed wheat might strengthen while the pool
                    continues to drop.
Kept our 13-15% protein pooled, but might regret
                    it by the end

Just remember, every save the cwb add takes
another penny off your cheque, every lawsuit
takes a dime , and the employee severance
should take care of the rest. You may even get a
bill once this dog and pony show gets put out of
                      its missery.
