I_F. Why don't we use the results of 2006
plebiscite? You know the one the CWB
    completely dismissed. Couldn't the government
argue that they did in fact consult farmers in
2006-so let's get on with it and move into the
21st.century. And when you make a statement
and someone challenges it why don't you defend
    your statement?

AdamSmith: You are coming across as an "elitist" jerk with your condemnation of nearly all who oppose the destruction of the CWB. Can't you see what the government is doing?...they are going to leave the CWB a shell of what it is now and its usefulness to farmers will be close to nil. IMHO this is being done deliberately so as to set up the new CWB for complete failure so that it can be sold or shut down for ever. With no farmer control or input it is inevitable.

In the final, final analysis no group of farmers, no group of anyone else, whether they vote or not, no so-called organization of retarded Wheat Board monopoly supporters, no society of doctors or dentists or service station owners, not the Council Against Canadians, noy anypne is ever going to have primacy over parliament. Parliament does not need permission from any citizen or group of citizens to make or change laws. We elect them for that purpose. The latest antic by Oberg & the Seven Dwarfs is a pathetic last gsap. They will be out of their jobs and out of a position to pursue this craziness by this time next week. The appeal of the ludicrous Campbell decision will succeed no matter what any pompous professor says, even thoiugh that decisoion does not have a milligram of legal weight. The whole thing will go down as a silly comedy in which the Wheat Board thought it was an independent sovereign country on the same level as Canada. Wonder why they didn't apply to join the UN?

willy, pointing out outright fallacies is not elitist.

As far as setting the cwb up to fail, I see the current 8 directors doing far more to poison the waters with respect to the success of a future voluntary cwb than anything the government has done.

The crazy 8 as they've become affectionatly known have alienated so many farmers and those same farmers grow most of the grain. These directors destroyed most of the goodwill that may have existed for the cwb. The government didn't do that, they did.

ONE MORE TIME THERE WILL NOT BE A VOTE BECAUSE RITZ CAN NOT WIN A VOTE AS THE MAJORITY OF PRODUCERS OPOSE THE DISMANTLING OF THE CWB

The CWB's own producer surveys show that the majority of producers support the end of the monoploy. In the barley pelbicite of 2007 only 34% of respondants supported the monopoly. There already was many votes. No more voting is nessasary. Full steam ahead Mr. Ritz.

First of all Calgary Cowboy posts in the globe and mail. From past posts if cowboy is from calgary he's a new arrival. Besides that we had a vote in 2007 on barley. 62% said no monopoly and yet the Liberals NDP and Bloc said no we will not honor the farmers vote the monopoly will remain. Also in the CWB designated area 57 constituencies 57 CPC. Done Apparently the whiners will not honor a vote. I am hopeful by friday marketing freedom will exist.
