It's just personal opinion if you think the cwb has been "USEFUL" for 30 years!

It is obviously not the same CWB, after Ritz has stripped it of all power. There really won't be any choice after he is done. Who wants to deal with a crown corporation without marketing power, no financing and no ability to control product. Your false platitudes are ludicrous. Who would trust Ritz appointees , with a mandate to wind down the board. They are set up for failure.

#1 I believe the feds are going to continue to guarantee the necessary financing.
#2 why do people still believe the myth that the cwb had any kind of special market power?
They just didn't. Any buyer from anywhere in the world, even Canadian buyers could buy from many other sources. Canadian CWRS wheat is no different than American DNS. Just because they said so in the Western Producer or MB Co-operator back in 1968 doesn't make it so.
Back in the thirties the pools thought they had market power by holding wheat off the market and they went broke in the process. That's why we have a friggin wheat board. The feds had to bail them out (pay off the banks)then take the grain and dispose of it. The 1935 board was created to dispose of two or three years of Pool wheat.
So if I had any advice to any future director of the cwb I would say NEVER and I mean NOT EVER think that any one entity has the ability to manipulate the market. Billions have been lost by having such delusions.
#3 control product??? are you talking controlling the flow of product into the system? That's what a real basis does Aggie and it controls it much more efficiently than an ivory tower bureaucrat while still allowing a individual producer to sell for cash any day the market is open.

I-F your right, no wheat has ever been confiscated or even expropriated but what has occured for the last 68 years 2 months, 16 days, 16 hours and 23 minutes is our RIGHTS OF OWNERSHIP have been stripped from us. Which is the right to sell that which we produce and own to the buyer of our choosing for the best terms we can negotiate.
