    Snow? Drought?

So as I look out the window here, in this wet area, and see a smattering of snow, I wonder, are the dryer areas like kindersley, Speedy creek etc. worried about it being dry this year yet? We have hardly any snow. In my tall oat stubble, there is just enough that it is tough to get around with a 2 WD half ton. And that is fine by me, we need diddly for precip until mid july. But there has got to be some concern out there, no?

does anyone have a decent amount of snow yet? We have got about 10 inches so far this year. What have the rest of you boys (and pars) gotten?

What a pleasant change from cwb talk, eh? I'm sure someone will find a way to twist it though. lol

We have no snow. Cows are still grazing, just need a little good hay to balance ration.

Water table though is still high. It wouldn't take much rain to get us in trouble in the spring.

Near Foam Lake burying brush piles, not wet ground to about 12' deep. We have dried up
extremely well from the last few years. Had a fall with almost no rain, unheard of in these
      parts. Looks good for spring.

            Freewheat,

Our winter wheat is Very unhappy.

Had about .25 of an inch of precip all fall... just enough to sprout and strand our seeded winter wheat. Looks very sad. about 1-2 inches of snow on it... frozen little cause it is so dry. East Central AB very dry.

I don't know where environment Canada found 1 to 2 inches of Precip since Sept 1/11... it sure didn't happen on our farm. And we are spread over 20 miles in the East Edm. area.

Greg we have been out pushing bush south of you and its still wet really wet and were white.
No more water till may long weekend or later would be just fine. Did drive from Regina to moosejaw to weyburn the other day and back through Francis. Guess what no snow from the new inter-model yard west of Regina and around.

Top couple inches had dried off through harvest but subsoil is very saturated yet. Only a skiff of snow here yet and none needed except if one wants to do some snowmobiling. Early spring and no rain till may long would be fine here also. If get a nice shower for germanation then we would be set for a while after that.

Sask for a change you were blessed with more rain than we had.
Finally had a normal growing season and a very dry fall. We
needed it, hopefully not to much rain for you guys in the spring.
