You guys might think I'm a bit of a galah with the
    spelling errors sorry.
Another thought I am pro choice as you know but
also cynical of politicians, but once change comes
and you have a lot of issues to resolve, don't be
to surprised if govt says "look we got rid of your
single desk, you farmers sort it out from here"
probably won't happen to that degree but all you
guys on both sides think clearly and rationally

I will probably get banned and spend time in the
sin bin with bro for meddling in your business

      Mallee,

At this point our Canadian Grain Commission standards require all transactions to be secure, government graded... nothing has changed but the grower has the right to sell their grain to any buyer including the new voluntary gov. backed CWB.

Before C18 the CWB 'single desk' was the only buyer milling wheat could be sold to... but domestic CDN only livestock feed wheat could be sold to any buyer.

      Hope this helps

        Mallee,

All the protocols that are now used to sell Canola Pulses, Flax, Rye... etc... are also in place just the same for wheat and barley as well. Including a NEW voluntary CWB which has handling agreements with some elevator companies now. I encourage the new CWB to form a 'Clear' type of brokerage system like you have now.

All that must happen for this to become effective is to have the old CWB's injunction application refused in court... they are trying to file it in Manitoba Court of Queens Bench it is understood.

Western Canadian Wheat Growers are ready to intervene... and oppose this CWB attempt to stop C18 and our new voluntary wheat and barley marketing system in western Canada.

No time to answer all your questions other than to note that Australia and Canada are fundamentally different on a number of issues. As indicated by Tom4cwb, the Canadian Grain Commission handles grain grading, licensing, bonding, etc. No changes after bill C-18 although the CGC has been reviewed and there are likely to be changes to the Canada Grains Act coming.

To put your questions into context and to highlight the Australian experience for western Canadian farmers, I am posting a link from a presentation by Geoff Honey, Grain Trade Australia.
