I don't belong to either the WBGA or the NFU. I have nothing against the WBGA, and appreciate their work on barley growers behalf. The NFU may not receive gov't dollars, but that is not a motivator for me to join their cause.

NFU positions on issues are skewed with misleading analysis meant to forward political agendas that are antagonistic to the best interests of grain farmers in the west. Their public face is always an angry, militant one, unwilling to objectively view issues affecting agriculture, railing against anyone who doesn't share their leftist view of the world.

Try looking in the mirror Farm Ranger. The following could be applied to the vast majority of Agriville participants.

"Their public face is always an angry, militant one, unwilling to objectively view issues affecting agriculture, railing against anyone who doesn't share their right wing view of the world."

A little self reflection from time to time is never a bad thing for anyone.

Agri-ville welcomes all opinions (it barely enforces its vulgarity rules). Agri-ville is also not a political entity. If anyone posts an opinion here that isn't credible or defensible, then prepare for some criticism. If the criticism gets a little heated at times, then that is probably more a function of the degree of perceived harm to the other farmers here if your opinions become accepted as “facts”.

Agri-ville is an open discussion where we can freely exchange ideas and debate their merit. Any idea with valid concerns for our industry and well thought out reasoning will have defensible merit. For example, I agree with many of the arguments you've made against the legislation in Alberta that plays fast and loose with farmer's property rights to their land. Please explain to my how you don't have an irreconcilable double standard when you're against the Fed's restoration of farmer's property rights to their wheat and barley with C18. It appears that you want to pick and choose which property rights to uphold based whether they are being defended or not by a political entity that you either like or dislike.
