Well if Tom's article about the link between oil and ag. commodities holds up, better get your seat belts on. A story in one of the mainstream papers last week spoke of $500/bbl oil if Iran and the US mix it up.

Kinda out there I think, though.

Cotton, tell me, you think gold is an acceptable
form of money? If i put an ad in used regina to
sell my vehicle and some one walked up with 20
various 'gold' coins. I would take them at par, NO
            WAY!

Money is an acceptable medium of exchange. I
believe that speculation and fear have taken gold
to these heights. It will fail as medium of
exchange for food because of several factors,
one being the inability to assess gold content
visually. So I think I'll be foolish and bank on the
            paper.

Gold has been considered money for 5000 years.

Bank on paper instead of gold?Paper isnt regularly
              forged?

The canadian mint, mints 1 oz gold coins, very hard
              to forge,gold is a ver,very heavy substance.

You simply dont know what your talking about and
someday in the future you will not be able to buy
              some at any price.

But it will cost you a months labour.
