Not to be argumentative but a "tax break" for someone who isn't making alot of taxable income won't be as useful as a simple payment to help make up the shortfall they are experiencing.

I am not sure Farmaholic. I would think that if farmers are sharing machinery some inputs possibly sharing grain sales and rented land then that farm should be considered one entity on any subsidy cap. What is your view point? We are just entering the world of the very large farmers. 7500 acres and above with sales pushing 1.5 to 3 million average for that acreage and much higher for higher acreage. How much do they need to have the programs as much as the farmers with half million of sales, that is the question.

I gotta learn some UFC moves. I keep feeling
hopper and farmaholic feeling in my pockets for
taxcash. Isn't that what socialists do?
So. I want to make Louis Wheaton purses out of
garbonzo straw. It's my right I want tax dollars to
develop a purse prototype and tax money for a
purse plant and tax dollars to make sure my profit
is set above what I arbitrarily decide is
acceptable for me to live on. Good wine.
I trust the socialists on AV will support me
wholeheartedly. Pars.

Farmaholic the tax break idea is to be replaced with farmer responsibility to take care of shortfalls. Farmaholic the farmer not taking responsibility for crop failures is the same as the truck driver leaving the box up and taking down 10 million in damaged power lines etc and thinking its not his fault.

Hopper, the comparison I was making was taking the large farm and dividing it into 4 unrelated entities, and simply saying if the 4 all qualify under the same circumstances then the one large farm should also. I realize there may be benefits to the large farm (buying power, economy of scale, etc.) but both large and small generally operate in the same system with the same risks, especially weather related problems.
