    Tony Merchant is a blood sucker, the residential school debacle landed him some sweet pay. He always takes his share first then your left with the leftovers. Cant believe all you lefty pinkos love the idea of a U.S. style lawsuit.
    Ritz can keep my money if its from the CWB, I dont want it or its leftovers.

      OK Wilagro,

      Who had a decent year in the farm supply/grain handling business... that counts on direct elected farmers to direct the future of their business?

      UFA?

      CWB?

      SWP-gone;

      AWP-gone;

      MPE-gone;

      UGG-gone;

      Federated Co-op is a food, fuel, hardware, farm supply merchandising business... whom I wouldn't mind the new CWB selling out to!

      Is that your idea Wilagro???

      Why didn't Oberg and his crazy 7 buddies start transition years ago?

      Federated proves no 'single desk' is needed to be a sucessful marketer!!!

        The single desk or monopoly is gone.
        I really dont give a shit if the CWB dies.
        They can keep my share ($4,000. on average, per farmer) to rap things up.
        A small price to pay, for marketing freedom, without that commie single desk dictatorship.

          This class action appears to be premature at best, and a complete waste of time and energy at worst.

          Not only is the CWB continued (read alive and well) under the new Marketing Freedom for Grain Farmers Act, but the Act also provides for the distribution of assets should the CWB be wound up.

          Tough to argue that the manner of distribution of assets is unfair and/or illegal when those assets haven't been distributed yet and continue to be in the posession of a working CWB. Which, of course, makes it well nigh impossible to argue that Canadian farmers have lost the 'benefits' of having the CWB when the CWB is still alive and well (albeit with new management).

              Ok Oberg, Kornychuk, Wells, et al. (Wilagro, Chuckchuck et al) You whine that the CWB has no assets so is incapable of competing. Now you’re suing for $15 Billion because CWB assets are being “confiscated”. Which is it?

                Kodiak,

                PLEASE... do NOT confuse the issue by bringing in FACTS!

                If I were that Manitoba Court Judge... (looking at the Crazy 8 injunction application) I would really be shaking my head about now!

                CWB on the 'single desk' side in 2012 says our wheat is worth 75 cents a bushel LESS now (Spring of 2012),

                Than fall 2012 competitive market prices with an inverse futures market of 20 cents on December 2012 futures.

                  I just don't get the ( Has to be a mandatory cwb
                  group ) They cry out that their rights have been
                  violated that there was no vote, yet there never was
                  a vote to put the cwb in. What about the rights of
                  the individual farmers over the last 70 some years
                  who never wanted the cwb and would hav preferred
                  to sell their wheat on their own. Mandatory
                  confiscation went out with the last great bastion of
                  true communism ( soviet union ) And that's what it
                  comes down to for me, the right to sell what i grow
                  to whomever. Canola is the classic example of
                  success in the open market, we have value-added
                  processing, we export it and guess what? It's a
                  great money maker, year in year out it's the crop
                  that pays the bills. What a great country, we finally
                  all have the right of choice to market our wheat!

                    Market Capitalization of Viterra inc. is 4 Billion, They have about 35% Market share. Boy for a CWB that can’t compete in an open Market looks like they are worth enough to buy a Monopoly in Western Canada, if not all of Canada… Sounds like they had they same firm come up with this number as the 500 million losses per year in Market benefits. Must have been Bernie Madoff or Jon Corzinne or someone really good with numbers like those guys. LOL

                      But hey I will take a payment if theres one coming, but I will consider it more of a pain and suffering payment for all they years of being forced to sell to a Monopoly.

                        Now why the hell didn't I go to law school? There is enough work here for decades, and you don't even have to know how it will turn out just keep filing suits and put in the bills! lol

                        I think I understand now why the gov kept the name cwb going for 5 years, if they had ended it we all would have been given a cheque. But in reality the cwb as a single desk is done so what is the plan for the ships and railcars? This is all a shitshow at best, always was and likely always will be.

                          So Tony merchant who ran as a liberal
                          once, and his wife Pana is a senator
                          appointed by a liberal, and the plaintiff
                          ran for the liberals in this past
                          election. Pretty easy to follow the dots
                          on this one. Seems like Gooddale has all
                          his puppets in order.

                            I'm trying to figure out the 15.4 billion?

                            why not 27 billion? or

                            93 billion? or 341 billion?

                            15.4 trillion?

                            One might take this a wee bit seriously if the number had some basis to it, something arguably quantifiable, but HOLY PATHOLOGICAL DELUSIONS BATMAN, this even stretches the bounds irrational thought.

                            I'm surprised that even the cbc carried this as a "REAL" story
                            or was it in their "wierd and wacky" section? You know like the story I read about a girl in china who married herself or the girl in Wpg who was shot in the eye but refused medical treatment until she was finished her beer.

                            Well if it wasn't thats where it belongs.

                                i5.4 billion! Obviously the Friends of the wheat board know about hidden overseas bank accounts and other investments beyond the ships, that the crazy 8 were buying with our money. Why else would they be valuing the assets of the CWB so highly.
