I think Tony has it backwards, the CWB was a weight around our necks. It was costing us Billions it was not worth billions. We will be lucky if we don't have to pay to get rid of this billion dollar boondoggle. I sure wont be waiting for the cheque in the mail.

Disgraced former CWB director and member of the crazy 8 said in an interview yesterday that "The value of the Canadian Wheat Board was immeasurable".

What is really immeasurable is the amount of resources - financial, time, etc. being squandered on this argument on principle and politics.

There are so many things we could devote energy to improving. Things like transportation logistics and efficiency, development of better varieties, more uses for our products that may be farmaceutical, food, industrial, whatever.

The point is this political BS, especially from the wingnut agricultural left, is keeping this industry in the dark ages. What's lost to the rest of us is truly immeasurable.

I guess what i find funny is that the media said it would amount to $3000 a farmer. Talk about a farmer war if this would ever be a go. How would you divide it up? I am sure a 20,000 acre farmer would be glad to take the same amount as a 160 acre farmer. To complicated and its all administration costs. I myself think this is a free Merchant advertisement.

To mention Adrian Measner and the Federal Government 'Mistake' in firing Adrian... in the case for this Class Action is a huge mistake that shows this guy has absolutely NO CLUE.

The Measner issue was soundly decided by the courts... that the Minister Responsible for the CWB had every right firing CWB President Adrian Measner. Clearly Farmers were not in control of the CWB then... or just before C18 was implemented.

By bring this up... Dwayne proves the $15.4B Class Action depends upon faulty reasons and legal facts.

$3000 as a pay out per farmer. That must be the new math that's taught in the DA, as I didn't realize it was that crowded out here.

I suggest either of the following has occurred. Someone is either relying on an even newer and really, really cooked CWB voter's list of dead farmers, or the Merchant group has one heck of a percentage fee for a class action.
