    iCloud

    What effects, ramifications, liabilities, advantages
do you see coming from amalgamating all your
    devices on iCloud? Pars

    Parsley,

New Superphones are set up to use g-hot-mail systems for contacts; e-mail etc. On the move this works very well.

Some are worried about security... I don't get it... I am not a revolutionary or such... keep confidetial finances off the system.

Works very well all things considered.

      Hi Parsley,
Happy New Year and I hope you are well.

Here are a couple of thoughts on the iCloud, which is basically a wireless connection between Apple devices like the iPod, iPhone, iPad and probably their computers.

The Apple engineers are pretty bright and I think they will have some pretty good security built in....time will tell.

Michael, my son received a new iPhone for Christmas and he liked how it synched up with his iPod (all his songs from iTunes).

The benefits of access to real time information should help us all be smarter and make better decisions...we now have access to the content of the world and the smart people on Agriville. All on the one device that is convenient at the time, iPhone when on the road, maybe iPad when not on the go.

I love how this technology has created communities and flow of info and improved people's quality of life, business, entertainment....etc.

I do worry about personal security and encourage people to be careful with important information.

Take care and talk to you soon,

      Joe Dales

No one is really concerned with your personal and private info are they?

For Linux users Ubuntu and the cloud work great.

I am using the blackberry playbook and am enjoying. I like the ability to connect to my blackberry phone/use it as connection to the internet although not having access to email with WIFI/no connection to the cell could be an issue. Big screen/touch pad is nice.

Also use iCloud with my mac at home. Some frustration in the move from mobile Me (didn't update operating systems so don't have access to everything on icloud). Nice to be able to store files in off site location and be able access anywhere. Security issues are a concern but don't store anything I am not willing to have some else see. Things like Dropbox also work but not as familar (used with friends to be a common shared file for pictures).

The world is becoming to complicated for an old guy.

Megaupload suddenly being shut down the other
day is a good example of what can happen to
            your data.

For example, if you save all your pictures in
iCloud, and purchase more space from apple, it
could be lost in a click by someone's decision. I'm
wondering if Carbonite is better for storage.

            Or China buys apple. Pars

              Dear Parsley,

A good Hard Drive for low cost backup is reasonable cost without too much hastle. Memory sticks as well are getting cheap.

Backups are smart and still mean that info can be as secure as 'Carbonite'.

              Cheers!
