    Parsley,

Here is a copy of the letter in support to:

    <Date>

    Honourable Christy Clark
    Premier of British Columbia
    Box 9041 Station PROV GOVT
    Victoria, BC V8W 9E1

    Dear Ms. Clark:

I'm writing to let you know that I support the Enbridge Northern Gateway Project. It's an important opportunity for Canada, in particular northern BC and Alberta.

It's the North's turn to host one of Canada's largest projects on the books today. Northern Gateway will be a $5.5 billion private sector capital injection into the economy, with over half of that amount spent on wages during its construction. Just the marine terminal operations in Kitimat represent nearly a billion-dollar capital expenditure.

I believe that Enbridge can build and operate Northern Gateway safely. The company has a proven track record with over 60 years of safe pipeline experience throughout North America. With their experience they will be able to apply the most modern technology and safety features to this project. Pipelines operate safely around the world and I believe this project will too.

For these reasons I urge you to support Northern Gateway and help make it a reality.

    Sincerely,

    <Your Name>

This project will help all Canadians... especially those in western Canada be on the forefront of Agricultural Innovation and Value Added food, fuel, fiber and industrial plant products.

With a little thought we can easily co-produce specialty plant products with the oilsands reclamation land and residual energy resources.

The Joint Review Panel for the Enbridge Northern
Gateway Project is an independent body,
mandated by the Minister of the Environment and
the National Energy Board. The Panel will assess
the environmental effects of the proposed project
and review the application under both the
Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and the
      National Energy Board Act.

This a legislated duty, on behalf of all Canadians.
Not Chinese. Not Cubans. I'm not sure that the
panel understand their dutiy to Canada, paid for
by Canadians. I'm not entirely sure the woman
      chair isn't incompetent. Pars

You guys/gals have to be kidding. This lousy pipeline to the west coast will be another way to waste more of OUR energy which should stay in Canada. All of the natural gas and fresh water used in one year to refine that gunk would supply an average city in Canada with ALL of their natural gas and water for years to come.

We will have more foul waste-water lagoons and contaminated sand piles for little return as the royalties accruing to Alberta will be peanuts. Most of the profit will go to American owned companies. Don't forget that this bitumen is ALL produced with federal and provincial special tax concessions and is very expensive to extract. WE will all subsidize this project as we have done all along for all the present ones operating.

Let the Chinese buy their oil from the far east...its closer for them and far better oil as well.

            What dreadful nonsense, wil.

Whether you like it or not, or admit it or not, oil
drives our economy; oil provides us with a
standard of living unparalleled in this universe; oil
is our home-owned resource; oil is plentiful; oil is
            the basis of operating all our farming equipment;
oil provides jobs for our families; oil built its'
Canadian infrastructure; oil is cheap; oil is being
            researched.

Unlike Your last comment, I've noted some of
your other posts have threads of reason in them.
It's too bad you havent gone stark raving crazy,
because it must be dreadful to lead your kind of
            life. Lol. Parsley

I thought if was organic framing that
drives our economy. The cwb was holdin
Comedia back. Now its goon, the sky's
the limit. Disheartening to hear that
the oilies are the drivers of Comedia,
now. What'll it be next, sled dog
              racin, that drives the economy.
Comedians after all, are huers a wood,
and drawers a water, always was and
              always will be. NAFTA confirmed
Comedia's role on the world seen, some
              timeago.........

parsley: Perhaps you should fly over the tarsands extraction region and see with your own eyes what they are doing up there. Perhaps you should see our three year deficit in Helberta and see how WE have benefited from the oil extraction.

I have received over $8000.00 in the past six years from seismic activity alone on my farm...THAT is the only benefit that I have seen. The province must be run by idiots because it doesn't seem to be benefiting much or else the money is wasted on excursions to the USA trying to get them to take more of our crappy oil and letting us build even more pipelines. WE already export millions of barrels of oil to the USA every month as it is. Show me how the money is helping Albertans to any great extent and I will quit bitchin'...otherwise leave the bloody oil in the sand.

#1 One benefit I have been told about is jobs.
Granted, I took them at their word. I know so
many people employed and getting super wages.
The ones I know, are actually receiving cheques
that cash. Are people getting paid? If they are,
would you sooner have them laid off, and
                  unemployed? Pars

Don't ask loaded questions. Of course I want employment for people. Getting fair return for our resources matters too. Practically giving this black gold away is stupid. Even your Premier lured some of our oil money into Saskatchewan with your LOW royalty rates as Saskatchewan wants to give the oil companies a bonus before they even start producing oil. I think if I lived in Saskatchewan I'd be watching what is going on there...things are very quiet with the government that you have...too quiet.

#2 Royalties. Do Oilsands pay royalties of any
kind to the Alberta provincial gov't ? What is the
%? how much is the total amount of royalty
money is deposited In the provincial purse?
$Zero dollars? $1M? Would the you prefer the
Alta coffers get $zero money from natural
resources ,and should entirely keep out oil,
ammolite miners, and coal miners et al? What is
                      your expectation? Pars.

                        don't see/appreciate the same benefits I see!

Ya crap me and dad joked once Sask is the best kept secret. Although we are on much different wavelengths, Cheap living. Most of the class moved to Alberta or BC to get a job LOL. Actually been happenning for near a hundred years. Will a lot of these guys are in a 40 percent plus tax bracket. And a lot of the tax exemptions and credits you talk of are for environmental reasons. Also there is a requirement to reclaim these open pit mines.
