ASRG.... Pat Daniel spent months in Wisconsin. He attended town and
community meetings, and spoke to homeowners.

When he first arrived the residents were furious, and rightly so.

He gave them his word that Enbridge would ensure they were without loss.

Pat bought about 150 homes... he offered to buy homes, relocate, fix
    whatever.

These homes have been slowly selling, as people are now moving back to
    the spill area.

His personal guarantee, his walking the talk, and his acceptance of the
accountability and responsibility of Enbridge was paramount.

Pat Daniel was named Canada's CEO of the year in 2011, and IMHO it
    was most deserved.

BTW, the people of Wisconsin now attest to his credibility.

    Cheers... Bill

Maybe I'm wrong and Enbridge does compensate everyone for their crude oil battery site pumping stations; risers and pipeline obstructions within worked farm land fields etc. That company has been known to press "safety concerns" to the point of ridiculousness; and inconvenience and stall progress of contractors; SaskPower; and oil companies all at the same time.

Please inform me who to deal with within Enbridge; so that this matter may be remedied.

Without oil Canada would be a third world
        country. Nothing else produces anywhere
close to as much wealth in a big hurry as
the oil industry. We as a nation need to
sell our oil to different markets in order
to stay a first world nation. To the
detractors what do they think funds things
like health care and education and
virtually everything else in this country
        other than the oil industry.

Bill: It is good to hear Enbridge is trying to clean up its game. As I stated earlier I support this pipeline, but would like to see the process proceed without the government getting their big nose in it.
            The hearing process takes 18 months....that shouldn't be a problem....we don't need the extra capacity until 2017.
Of course after that there could be court challenges from the native bands (likely), but that is the law and must be played out. Trying to put in "short cuts" will only cause more opposition (hopefully not violent!).
I have no skin in the game. I don't own any shares in oilsand companies, or Enbridge pipelines. I don't want a pipeline job. I won't have to live with a spill.
I don't understand the economics of shipping condensate in a continous loop from China to Fort Mac? Maybe we should try to get the Chinese to build a refinery at Fort Mac?

ASRG... I would also prefer our crude to be refined here.

Apparently the underutilized capacity in the Gulf, the tremendous cost of
world class/capacity refineries, and the prospects of importing preferences
              changing is too risky.

A complaint of the Gateway line is the lack of customer signed long term
              contracts.

Seems most buyers wish to keep their options open.

Allowing the buyers to refine secures the market.

              Cheers.. Bill

I'm afraid I had to google Kathryn Marshall. LOL.

I view the oil industry as an integrated entity. Not
one project. They share machinery with each
other. They share research. They share
                technology. They share seismograph technology
and drilling technology and exchange rigs and
even though companies compete, they co-
operate. The pipeline is essential. The Bakken
alone has more oil than carter has opills. We need
markets and routes and discovery and service
companies so we can pay off debts and save for
the future. Oil has an integrated approach to get
their jobs done and we live like kings in Canada,,
based upon an oil economy. Appreciate what
they contribute. My god, rig work is hard work,
and I am sick to bloody death of listening to some
snotty Occupy bitch on an iPhone trashing oil.
                End of rant. Pars

Thanks for the effort Bill. You are so
conscientious I really hate to take a loonie off you.

parsley: I hope you don't think I was trashing oil....because I wasn't. In fact a good portion of my income comes from oil.....and no I don't work for the oil company....and yes I do have a good relationship with the companies on my land.
I do have a problem with the government and the so called Alberta government regulators!
I am the secretary of a landowners group "Alberta Surface Rights Group" (thus the name ASRG) that represents about 1400 members mostly in central Alberta. We are not anti industry in any way, but our mission statement is "to educate, inform, assist, landowners with negotiating surface leases and pipeline right of ways". We have been fairly successful in raising the bar for all landowners in our area.

You posted for me before, so I cut and pasted
your post and retained it, and visited the website
you provided a link for. I was very impressed
with, and interested in your work, and in your
liaisons with other groups with commonality. You
must be a sweet talker. ;=D Pars.
