Well boys , it looks to me like ol Grassfarmer is hitting the nail on the head and some of you like it too much! Those good old boys south of the border are going to stick one on us as soon as they see our grain as a threat. Trust me this will happen. It happened in the past didn't it! When I was working for SWP in the early 90's I had talked to truckers that were hauling fertilizer down to Shelby MT. and they were chased out of that town because the local guys thought they were hauling grain into their elevators! I Hope that we can very soon have a made in Canada solution , and not have to worry about hauling our grain south. Hope it happens, but don't forget about the Americans, as they usually don't like to take a back seat to anything for very long. R-calf is a prime example of American protectionism , and it might happen with our grain too. Now that the CWB is gone maybe we might have the actual prices for our grain instead of a dribble here and a little bit there over 18 months. That my friends has been long overdue.

I think you will be right and the made
in western Canada price will be equal to
or better than the US price. I suspect
the volumes of wheat moving south will
not be as big as everyone expects here.
      Can't head south without a sale/home so
I expect northern state elevators will
      manage their Canadian
      content/deliveries.
