CWB games still happening

Feb 1 - Minn Cdn $-8.35, AF- .19,Mar Basis- -.30, FPC-$8.24
Feb 3 - Minn Cdn $-8.38, AF- .22,Mar Basis- -.38, FPC-$8.22

Bottom line...US market in Cdn $ up 3 cents but FPC down 2 cents.

Feb 8 - Minn Cdn $8.39, AF- .23,Mar Basis- -.43, FPC $8.19.

Bottom line...Over the past week, the US price in Cdn dollars is up 4 cents from Feb 1 but the FPC has dropped 5 cents. Rather than lock in, I took a chance that the US market would go up and it did but I actually lost ground on the CWB FPC.

Next,I phoned the board when I found that the 8th was the last day to fix price the 75% that I have already delivered on the A series. I pulled the pin and locked it in.

Guess what happened today on the FPC (which can only be used for the remaining 25% not called yet and the B series)

Feb 9 - Minn Cdn $-$8.27, AF- .32,Mar Basis- -.28,FPC-$8.31.

Bottom line...the US price dropped 12 cents from yesterday but the CWB played around with the AF/Basis and increased the FPC by 12 cents. Screwed me on the last day and now increased the FPC for new tonnage.

I have a long memory when someone screws me!!!!

Don't fret your not alone, they most likely screwed most western Canadian farmers so now they can offer a better price on what is left so that they can now say they have a competitive price and you should have hung on. Tuff titty they will say.

FYI - I got the Feb 8th deadline information from my local elevator. I just realized, I never asked the CWB if in fact the deadline is correct as I spent all my time with them evaluating how to calculate my payment given the difference in my protein levels vs. 13.5 on the FPC. I spent 1/2 hour tonight trying to find this deadline on their website and could not. So...to be fair to the CWB at the moment, I have to confirm the deadline as I know the readers on Agri-ville are a stickler for facts and rightly so.

I would try to hold the ellevator company accountable if they give you false information. Sorry to the sky falling crowd if you like to driven over and spun out on.
