Well later this week its off to find
some farm land. Ok its a excuse. But the
best winter in 100 we are having right
at home in Saskatchewan. Pushing Bush or
hauling grain is just plain fun.
Total Diesel used this winter is
unbelievable, tanks are still half full
and its Middle of Feb.
But here is a conversation I have been
having with neighbors. Why are we
allowing these so called foreigners
buying our land with no one in public
office doing any thing about it.
No not the NDP way of no Foreign
ownership. But aren't we screwing future
Canadian farmers. Aren't we creating a
world like our grandfathers left over
seas.
Would Hawaii IF I could afford it allow
me to purchase a Island away from the
locals. I can bet you the answer is, Not
one acre. Americans understand this but
to me Canada is going down the wrong
path.
Yes as a farmer were all worth alot on
paper. But really is anything really
changed.
New purchaser just south of the Valley
buy Indian head. He bought I think 8 or
12 quarters of grass land. Yes wide open
and seeded back 10 years ago. He phones
Vittera and asks how to get the farm up
to standards to seed to a crop this
spring. He told them his expected
yields. Wow. Must have a secret weapon
because no way in hell will he hit the
targets. Its alfalfa brome.
Any way more and more is being bought
each and every day and maybe some
farmers are starting to get tired of
