Christ guys seeded right through the wet holes, cat tails and all, as high as the cab, they don't *** around. Think I would have at least worked the wet holes down, then seeded. Seems yous to dry, yer to dry, & to wet, yer to wet, just can't win out there eh. Whats the morale of The Guys, Bring it on 2012????

Not true about swamp land. Not true about not winning. I am always a winner no matter what happens. (lol) We are usually a tending to just right to looking for moisture area. A wide spread 2011 event was a real abnormity. It was smooth fall seeding winter wheat; just pre mow lowspots and heavy harrow the field. Working them up was not smart (imo). Why would you do it? No wet spots to think about.
Red ink from checking says winter wheat has not been hurt, yet, as every time the sun comes out, it greens.
Suspect there will be lots of yellow blossums in SE, but will stick to durum.

true, alot of WWheat went in, and so far leaving those tall weeds hasn't hurt because there's been so little snow. I'd say many are looking at oats due to our proximity to North Gate ND. A lot of talk HRS moving south, hence less freight than shipping to the west coast or TB. Durums always good here #1 or #2. There will be plenty of yellow. Guys are getting turned-off of flax and surprisingly peas, due to low price prospects.
We're never short of moisture in SESK during the growing season(Apr, May Jun Jul), as we catch the Montana lows. Even in the 80's we had decent crops, except for on or two years.
One shouldn't chemfallow in SESK as you may not be able to plant it the following year.
