I think Wigmore Farms were trying this angle.
Not absolutely positive that it was a go, but I
remember reading an article on this somewhere.

Have we not been selling branded grain for the last 100 yrs.

In western Canada it is called CW. It gaurentees a minimum milling and baking quality for each class and grade.

What are they offering that is different? Or are they just taking our qualities and putting thier brand on it?

No big deal to Larry and crew, they get paid and walk away that much richer and smarter if it goes broke.

I can not believe that their is this much negativity about a company brading their own product. And what local market do the Hutterites have sown up? Do you really believe that the local market for wheat in Canada is farmer markets???? Maybe we do need the CWB. Hate to say it but holy shit.

Canadian wheat is a brand in itself. IF someone can put those specs on a brand and sell for more then all the power to them. Why anyone would pay more for the same product is beyond me, but there are lots of people looking for the fuzzy feeling when they purchase a product. Not a raw commodity usually, but maybe a final food product that a CONSUMER will buy with wheat traced back to an IP system large enough in scale to be able to supply a consistent volumen for said product. Maybe they are not so stupid.
