Where does all the money go???

    The money behind military muscle

    By Ijeoma Ross

It's well known that the United States has the highest military budget in the world. But how high is it compared to the U.S. population? A comparison of military spending per capita produces a surprisingly different ranking from the usual biggest spenders. Here are the 10 countries that spend the most on their military on a per capita basis and how Canada compares (based on information from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, 2009).

    http://finance.sympatico.ca/galleries/military_money?

    FYI;

    UAE $2653/Person
    USA $2141/Person $687B 2009 4.7%GDP
    Isreal $1822/person $13B 6.3GDP
    Greece $1230/person 3.2GDP
    Canada $560/Person 1.5GDP 84th in the world.

This does give a little perspective on where the money goes we speculate about!

I think Stephen Harper plans to change that low number we spend?
Those new attack stealth jets and overhauling the navy should move us up the ladder? If you want to hobnob with the BIG warmongers, it costs some serious dollars!

Very interesting Tom. Thanks for putting
it into perspective. The leftists would
have us spending 20 bucks per capita for
some shells, cuz no one should have guns.
We need a stronger military now more than
ever before. Cut all the crap, like the
cbc, and spend the savings wisely. Rough
      times are sure to come.

freewheat, I'd say that in leftist countries, military spending usually becomes a significant portion of government expenditures. Destroying the business engines of an economy leads to the need to oppress your people in order to stay in power.

If you want to eat in North Korea, join the army.

            ASRG,

            Have a peak at this:

We spend little at less than a quarter the US spends per person. WE have MUCH more to protect.
