FCC Farmland Values Report video. Are land prices still rising?

Farm Credit Canada prepared this video on what is driving the farmland prices upwards.

The increase in farm land values is fine and good if it is farmers buying the land. But when you get outside of province and or country buying farm land as an investment and turn around and try and sell for 11% return, it makes it very difficult for the local new generation farmers to compete and increase their land base. Does the FCC have any numbers to show the amount of land that is bought by NON farmers?

That 11% was only on the last 6 months of 2011. I think it is great we now live in a province the rest of the world likes to invest money in. Would imagine some European contries would love to be in our shoes right now.
