That must be the Minneapolis May futures contract. It was up 48.6 cents per bushel on Friday. Closed at $8.37/Bus. Lots of outside money has been getting invested in these markets.
I see the normal limit is 30cents/bus. Must be some other rule I'm not aware of, in order for the 48ยข move to happen. Maybe because of the USDA report, or being a Friday, or last day of the month, or ??? Anyone know the reason?
Believe the CBOT grain price limits were
all expanded a while ago.
To my knowledge, wheat is now 60 cents/bu
daily limit, corn is 40 cents and soybeans
believe is 70 cents. Canola is now $45/MT
(hope I got this right).
