    Fertilizer Prices

What is everyone hearing out there? I left a portion unpriced as I was not able to take it and was quoted $780 - $805 on phosphate, $650 on 0-0-62, and $515 for 20.5-0-0-24. Was told by dealers it may go up more before spring.

Natural gas is almost free. No proper
price discovery in this fert market.

N prices jumped $50/ton here in the last few days. One guy here still trying to get $100/ac rent. Guys are paying new prices for stuff 3-4 years old at auctions... good times indeed. Interesting to watch anyway.

It seems that the open, free, unimpeded
marketing system is about to screw
Comedian framers AGAIN! What else is new,
it happens in some form, each and every
year here in Comedia, duhhhhhhh we love it
though, level playing fields are good/
subsidies are bad, sos unlevel playin
                fields I guess......

I've heard nitrogen is going to be
                  short...funny though, the local
independent dealer was at 750 and I was
still able to find 620 from cps...maybe
agrium isn't the worst thing in the
                  world

End Feb. was 59.9 per lb actual N as anhydrous delivered. Which works out to 600 per ton equivilent 46.

Correct me if I am wrong but did not the Belle Plaine plant get going with provincial monies investment and broken the smaller guys untill they gained their near monopoly? Then doubled the price from 18 cents per lb N to 36???
