To add to my previous comment about lease land, etc. Down here where we live ( SW Sask ) the band of thieves we all voted for in the government sure do like that Gas and Oil revenue that they get every year from the land that we lease from them. Of course over in Alberta that revenue is shared with the lease holders, from what I have been told up to 50% goes to them. Here in good old Sask. we get a cheaper lease rental in lieu of . I have tried to buy some of my lease land but the good old govt. wants me to pay them around $130-150,000 per 1/4 for their land. Guess what? they have it figured that you have to pay out 25 years of surface rights to them. Sooooo.... I will keep paying my cheap lease fees and run cows on it until I am ready to retire, which won't be any time soon. Yes We have cheap grazing on crown land , but in Alberta those good ol boys have the best of both worlds. Thats why they drive a lot newer equipment than guys like me! Oh by the way , I am having a bit of wine with my cheese!!! LOL
