Heads up Ammonia going up BIG!!!!!!!!

Ok before most of you go hard on me
about this thread. Yes I have purchased
all of mine at christmas. But just off
the phone from our supplier and wondered
if we took on any more land because the
    extra will cost.
Price is just over 70 plus delivery but
word is by friday we will see a huge
jump. I said 80 and their was no
    comment.

Now on another note is this Agriums way
of paying off Mayo schmidts contract by
    gouging the producers.
    Answer is you bet.
Natural gas is at its lowest price in
years and were at our highest price ever
    for Ammonia.
Yea this deal with Agrium is a real
    winner for who.
    N O T T H E F A R M E R !!!!!!!!!

High or low natural gas agrium will sell urea for as
high as the market will allow it to. Why would any
        farmer/business person expect anything else?
Why do farmers get offended at companies that
operate on the same principals as they do. It's
called free market capitalism and yes sometimes
people and business's other than you might
benefit from it. I know I sound like a jerk but
agrium is supposed to care about its shareholders
first. And right now there is enough demand for
        them to have pricing power.

It's hard to figure out why in hell anyone would ever think of renting more land this time of year?? Unless it is 5ft from your door and a good deal. Add up wtf inputs are before ego sets in - it does not make sense. Seed is always out or full bore retail plus, fert is always climbing, rent is stupid. *** it, walk away, it will be there in 3 years. It is the same story almost every year. Who cares where fert prices are if you have plans in place, leave it alone and let some other moron get at er.You do not have to farm everything that comes up - let it go and don't shit on fert prices now - it's always high now, they are going to *** with anyone who does not have their fert bought and stored. One exeption is 2008 where it ran up in July.
Right now the fert dealers are going to screw anyone they can that is dumb enough - it's business as usual for the desperate. That goes for all inputs. Shortage, shortage - shortage, it's April, always will be.
Go buy a boat in July - the same boat in Nov will be 20% off. It's life !!
At your age, how can you be even remotely surprised??? Youve been in the game long enough.

Right on Furrow, timing is everything.

Basically must be contrary the masses to get highest prices and lowest inputs.

Fall applied N has been cheapest time 90% of farming career.

Combines/ swathers bought in Nov, furthest from demand time.

Silly to buy or rent at this time, great for your ego though.

If getting as high of price as possible is screwing
the consumer then aren't we all doing that. We
would likely be just fine if canola were $10.00 but
if we can get $12.00 then you can bet that's what
will take. Oh yah and if by chance it goes to
$14.00 I'll take that too. And I'm not screwing
anybody because its a free country and they can
choose not to buy it.same goes for agrium.

I truly think its time to buy shares in Agrium.
T.AGU. I do not have any chart reading skill by
any means. I agree that natural gas is
exceptionally low, n prices may get exceptionally
overpriced going into seeding , makes a recipe for
kick ass profits for Agrium next quarter. They also
pay a dividend. The barchart.com opinion is only
a 16% "buy" opinion. I feel conflicted. Any
                    technical advice would be appreciated.

rhof that price of Canola oil in the
store is same today as it was a year
ago. All food like Rolled oats, oat bars
pam margarine are all gee the same so
how are we screwing the consumer.
Also Funny our dealer is getting lots of
calls for product from new guys out of
area does Viterra have issues again this
                      spring.
Yes Hopper any one who is looking at
more land this late in the year does
deserve to over pay. But 80Cent lb
ammonia translates to a 70 fall price
and that will also be the highest fall
price ever. Dah were all getting it up
                      the shoot.

Agu,pe ratio is only 9.6,make sure you buy before
their next earnings report, dividend isn't worth
                        mentioning,short term pullback to 76ish i would
                        think.

If nitrogen scares out some canola acres what will be
                          the replacement in your area?

Maybe this will save the pulse acreage?

Our area would switch to peas but no one I
mean no one has seed. All local seed
growers are out and what is available is
not good quality seed. two to three year
                            old peas.
Durum might pick up and even flax.
