It's been a short election but I'm already sick of most of the pompous leaders and their hollier than though attitudes. We can solve all your problems because in Alberta we have the luxury of just throwing more money at it. Guess it's what we deserve as voters because we all seem to think that the government and their handouts are a free ride. We hate big business, big oil but we want all the perks that come from a sound economy and the revenues they provide. We whine about politicians who are only in it to line their pockets but maybe they are only reflecting the views of voters who are only in it to also line their pockets. Maybe we need a minority government where government can do little. Better than the master plan of most of the platforms.

I'll surely agree with you on the thank God it will be over! I've been working every day with my Wildrose candidate.
The reason I got involved was the property rights issue. I see this as a real watershed election? Either we stop these land thieves now or they continue to erode our property rights to a point where owning land will mean little more than being a tenant?
Not much different than what most of our anscestors left Europe? Feudal serfs....living at the whim of a King.

Burbert: My whole voting life there was only one party that ever stood a chance (at least in my rural riding), so I don't know if all the politicians are like that? Maybe just the present government?
It's a pretty tough deal to label the Wildrose a bunch of money suckers when they have never had a chance to show what they can do?
I do remember Ralph Klein said he was going to trim up the government, balance the books, and pay off the debt....and by golly he did! He kind of let things go to hell later, but he did build up the sustainability fund to over $15 billion before they forced him out. Personally I think Ralph was a pretty good Premier......much better than the two duds that followed?

pretty exited about this election... good chance of electing a leader who has liberitarian views? The CBC / ROC sure does not like that.. so it must definately be the right thing to do? Just think, it may be the first time in history where a liberitarian has been elected to lead a majority government anywhere, even the states have failed to do that. THis may rock the establishment bigtime... excited to see what the external audit will produce? This past week reminds me of the smear and hysterics put forth by the media during Ralph Kleins battle against Betkowski when I was at university in the early 90's. Back then it just pissed me off and solidified my vote for Klein. Same thing happened now. The interesting part is I think that the NDP's position on increased royalties and processing bitumin in the province shows the best longerm vision, but I just hate smear and the charges of bigotry by the establishment. PC's are rotten to the core and need to be replaced. Wild rose is the only option to do that.

the definition of failure could be to do something the same way every time and expect different results.
watching CBC last night had me laughing with the consequences they perceived in the election.
someday we'll all have to deal with Canadas' Greece.
It's not wrong to want to be the boot some times instead of getting it all the time.
All in all, I find the whole deal very entertaining for a change.

Dear Parsley,
Conservatives do NOT like being called names. Wildrose needed a 60 percent plus turnout to win. 50 does not work as we needed 29-30 percent of actual voters to go to the polls for Wildrose.
THis did NOT happen. 50 percent turnout means a majority Pc gov.
Will Alison put the C back in the Pc's as she said she would last night?
Or will 'conservative' folks keep being thrown under the bus?
Time will tell. Alison has a BIG promise to keep. I hope she is up to the task!

From what i gather, those wild rose policies where
very libertarian "light".
What would happen if people where shown the "full
monty" of libertarianism.
And i see plenty of "right wing nuts" posts as it is.
The voting public is so snowballed,we will never have
any sanity in politics.
