Agristability has really helped me out but how
can you have any trust in keeping going with it?
Now with cow calf I dropped it.

So now there is some recognition about policy that is well beyond fixing in time to save your serious concerns. Where was everyone as the stage is being set on the all the basic issues of rights and freedoms that are chipped away on a daily basis?
Thats where you should have and should be speaking up.

Take agri invest. The max is $22500 plus the govt
portion makes it $45000. This is to offset the first
15% of a loss. $45000 doesn't go very far these
day. Why shouldn't all farms get equal treatment?
I'm not saying we should have subsidies but if we
do have them then, why shouldn't it be equal. I
think it's a bit hypocritical of everyone on this
thread to say I should get paid / have access to
full payments but not my neighbor. How do you
        justify that?

In the livestock sector million $ agri-stability
cheques have been going to hog barns and feedlots
          with some regularity.

Admit that the lowly welfare cheque comes from the same money pot that farmers get their subsidies from.

And further that any business sector needs to be profitable, in the long run, and not by not being dependent on subsidies and hands in other wage earner's pockets.

It is hard enough to try and explain farm subsities are ultimatly a consumer subsity to city people. Thought most farmers understand this. Do believe there should be a cap. Maybe even drop the cap.

Viterra got paid the max on their hog barns a few years ago. MPs rep justified by saying they were farmers.

Anyone think One Earth and Pike are not farming the programs as startups? Interesting that Ritz used to be an ostrich farmer, knowing how to bury his head in the ground.

$14 canola makes people do stupid things. $400000 for quarter sections and $85 rent are just 2 of the many things that are getting out of hand. Doesnt make for good neighbors or good communities. Good cure for this stupidity is $8 canola and $4 wheat. Trouble is it effects those of us that are playing the game for the long term.
