Northgate, SK and Corus Land Holding Corp.

Finally someone else has made a contribution to the Northgate, SK "facility" story.

A Corporate search was run and it is reportedly a simple story on the surface. I am told there is one principal in the Corporate register for Corus Land Holding Corp. in Saskatchewan; a Tom Muir of 1920 Young St, Toronto Ontario; maybe as president. There might also be a couple law firms listed including McDougall Gauley; and maybe another who has a power of attorney.

Anyway, a good old Google search reveals a Toronto firm to which a Tom Muir is attached.
Who knows how to determine what development and facilities are proposed for this region? Is Tom Muir a front for something else; or does he just really desire to own a full townsite forever and up to a couple of sections of farmland for about 4 years.
Would you not think, Dear Reader, that the long term forward planning vision municipal meeting (scheduled as we "speak"); should be addressing these very questions; and that maybe the actual residents might have a stake in what is going down.

P.S. I guarantee you that no simple residents will be at that meeting.

Here's a sample Investment strategy from the web site of the company with which a Tom Muir is associated; and I have copied an exerpt from that site. If any one else does give one shit about their business; maybe it would be a good first exercise for them to do the extremely simple google serch "Tom Muir 1920 Young St Toronto" to confirm

    Quote...... Non-Canadian Investor:
A non-Canadian company or financial investor has
targeted an industry or particular company in Canada in
which it would like to invest. It would like to conduct some
research on an extremely condential basis and knows it
would need some “locals” to assist it in overseeing and
managing an investment once made. The non-Canadian
investor partners with Muir Detlefsen & Associates to
research targets, negotiate and execute an investment
transaction, and provide managerial oversight over the life
    of the investment.

Here is an interesting quote from the 2011 Financial statements of Ceres Global Ag Corp; from which a Tom Muir holds an important position

Quote..... Ceres holds a 25 per cent interest in Stewart Southern Railway Inc. (“SSR”), also a Canadian company. Ceres also received rights
to a 20 per cent voting position on the Board of Directors of SSR.......unquote

Riverland Ag appears to be the flagship company that I suspect may very well be one of the "facilities" we might see come to Northgate. Just my preliminary speculation based on a quick scanning of the companies Tom Muir appears to be associated with.

The coincidences are starting to fall into place. Read the April/2012 "Pipeline News" story about the Crescent Point oil transload facility on that same SSR shortline railway.

It sure looks like "Tom Muir's Company" will also be involved in big time oil shipment by rail. And we'll see if the interconnections don't one day involve potash transport and cooperative ventures with a whole host of partners involving some prime real estate.
And it might someday be written that the key piece was a lowly Northgate liability; that developed from an asset given away to the first party showing an expression of interest.

So when i told you months ago there was an ocean of
oil underneath you and the pipelines where
maxed, and they needed to get it onto rail, like any
commodity, the pieces didn't fall into place?

Oneoff: By posting this I risk having my head bit off and sounding naive, but please explain. Is there a "Dog in the Manger" mentality regarding this issue.
Has anyone in the past expressed interest in this site and been turned down. From what you've posted earlier, I understand the value of the propery is in question. Previous to the latest development/interest, if no one ever came forward to acquire it how can we be suspicious of the deal. Should have there been a public tender as soon as someone showed interest? Isn't it better to have someone develop the site into something useful rather than sit idle. Please provide a bit of history to clear this up.

Someone asked if I could say "Chinese".

Maybe the prime focus is on securing oil; farmland; potash and agricultural products and developing the transportation infrastructure in a convoluted secret manner for the "Chinese".
Every country with such a goal has to start somewhere. Every hint I've heard does fit within such a sneaky scheme.

AND THE BEAT GOES ON......Would you believe that the SW-5-1-2-W2 just next to the Northgate section was sold Mar12/2012 FOR A COOL $800,000...........YES THAT IS EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND CANADIAN DOLLARS AND NOT EVEN ONE COUNCILLOR MADE A PASSING COMMENT AT AN "OPEN" COUNCIL MEETING LAST MONTH. MAYBE THERE IS LOTS TO KEEP SECRET (OR TO GET OUT IN THE OPEN" AND ITS TIME FOR A RATEPAYERS MEETING. But that will be someone else's project.
Capital letters are known as "shouting". When does it warrant raising the volume? Dear reader are you still concentrating on the messengers; or do you react to the real issues?

Is there any objection or public concerns that farmers such as myself just simply cash in if any invester/farmer/country wants to pay 800 grand for a quarter section for land assessed at about half of the better land in the municipality.

And BTO thought SE Sask was "swampland"

I will only say that the facts say the Corus sales started with SE-6-1-2-W2. You and everyone has access to the same public land title info as anyone else. Check whose name was on the titles prior to January 1 of this year and you will come up with exactly the same names as anyone else in the world.
Yes no one declared any conflicts of interest at the council table (open sessions); and more importantly if anyone had a conflict of interest; they didn't apparently distance themselves from any possible influence from members who arecharged with making the decision. Hell the land deals with Corus were so well camoflaged that there were only passing hints that anything was even being considered. It was as though everyone was sworn to absolute secrecy.

Thats a leading question about possible insider info benefits; or even the perception of a possible benefit. I honestly don't know and wouldn't have the desire to find out in court. I leave that conclusion up to others and the facts which are being witheld from everyone in this cloak of secrecy.

However the next quarter to the east (SE 5-1-2-W2 sold to Corus Land Holding Corp for only $150,000 Still a second best record though.

Just to repeat..... $150,000 for the next quarter east olond the 49th parallel. Probably few people have ever even set eyes on that quarter. I would even know how to get there.

                              oneoff

                              Questions.

Are the ratepayers not interested in this?

Are you the only one following this?

Sounds like a very closed door deal, corruption involved, and the ratepayers are not asking for some provincial help in opening up the process?
