Funny if you start to connect the dots.
China a communist country where every day
    people are expendable.
    They have no rights.
So offer them a new life to save their family.
Educate them and send over seas to produce
    food for the home land.
If you live under a communist rule you have only
one job like it or die.
What has landed local is the money man and his
    slaves.
When something smells fishy it probably is.
When my grandfather left Germany something
didn't feel right. Yea a nice guy called hitler took
over. You either agreed with him or got a real
    shitty job.
    Something smells shitty.

Everything and everyone is for sale under Harper's government. Trade is ALL that matters. Security...forget it...we'll sell the whole shebang for TRADE.

You are getting what you voted for...a naive politician leading us down the garden path.

Why is this a problem? The history of western Canada has always been about immigrants? Why does "Chinese" bother you more thanGerman/Ukrainian/Swiss/Dutch, etc.?
There is always a buyer and a seller?

Maybe you should look into being a seller?

Where is the money coming from? Really?
Try walking thru Walmart and find
something that isn't made in china! Our
iron ore goes there because we are too
stupid to make iron ourselves. free
labour with little to no environmental
laws and its called pure profit. Sask
farmland went up 21% last year. Pretty
          good considering the stock market.

SumDumGuy, you don't have to live in
Sask to have the land and put up with no
services or population. They live in
          multi million dollar properties in
Calgary or Vancouver where its not the
          boonies.

          This is no brainer stuff.

SF3-Not sure what China you are referring to but people have choice as to where they work, what they do. That is the reason they are moving from the country into the city, to seek a better life. That is why there is a construction boom and commodities, steel, copper, etc are hot. Yes the government manages that consturction boom and has major influence in certain industries but it is a blend of GOvernment and private enterprise. This is not Cuba.

If you think you can tell the afluence of an individual by looking at them then i suspect you have missed a lot of opportunities in life. You couldn't tell an investor from a worker/labourer if you wanted to. What you dont know you make up or speculate.

I agree with the previous poster. Do you really think they can buy up all the land and end the grain markets in Canada. If that is the case, i bet domestic grain prices in Canada would go thru the roof and one would live happier ever after. I dont quite understand the distaste unless you are unhappy your didnt buy more land when you had the chance, at of course lower prices. Is this about your misread of land values??????

Also realize in many of these countries 10% of the population have a large portion of the wealth. So they could have 120 million (i am generalizing here) really super wealthy people. What sterotype (ie dress, mannerisms, etc) can you use to ecompass 120 Million people? 4 times the population of Canada.

So, was rained out last night and i seem to have too much time on my hands today.

Interesting story from 6 months ago. China was trying to cut their steel output becuase the country has such an enormous ability to produce product. They would go into steel factories and ask them to cut production. They wouldnt (cause it is privately owned) and they would force it to shut down. Couple days later go back and the factory is running again. Finally, some of these facilities where actually blown up by government officials. This will be China's downfall. Government trying to run private enterprise and not letting the market produce it. All i am trying to get across is that this is not the former Soviet Union or CUba. And if the government controlled construction boom is incorrect, we are all fubared.

Dave all good points but. If your china and you
know you can't feed your own isn't it a good plan
to move migrant farm workers to places like
Canada and brazil and Australia and then build a
port facility to get their grain to china.
No Canadians needed. So then Dave what
happens to your prices if you take china out of the
                  equation.
Your dealing with a communist not a millionaire
                  from hong kong.

After all that you still think a "country" is after your
property? Maybe I should have given the long
winded version? The issue is it is a millionaire
                    from Hong Kong.

If Canada is being set up for some major changes in the social and eceomic profile; then I would say that the present Canadian citizens have a right to some input into those decision; and especially the right to know when those decisions have been made.
I know for a fact that at the local level there is no consultation or disclosure.
Is it any different at the other two levels of govenment. And could anyone say if there is even a captain at the helm? Maybe Canada is just adrift.

As for new immigrants. Not one problem if they become Canadians; and Canada comes first with them.
