    Net vs gross income

With so much talk in Stats Can about gross
margin and acres it seems odd there is so
little about net income, the only number
that is of real consequence. Line 150, its
easily trended against gross income. Are
there any sites or information on this on
    the Web?

What is a "normal" or "average" net income
    for 1000, 2000, 5000, 20000, etc acres?

I noted that has been the way of reporting-
omission for years. I would be most interested in
actual average farm net income, without the
government payout included. By province. Pars.

And particularly Quebec net farm income less
govt subsidies, grants and so called insurance.
      Puking material. Pars

Given that this info is gathered by StatsCan and that
most folks here don't provide honest information on
some principle or other, where do you expect this
information to come from? My observation is bigger
acres = bigger margins except that as the acres get
bigger, management really manifests itself when you
start talking 10 to 20 thousand acres.

            Rockpile,

I love the StatsCan fetish to tell us to 'guess'. What a load of crap. And then they sell this info and base gov. programs on it. If StatsCan wants good info... they should buy it from people at the going rate... not steal it.

Typical farmers Dont tell anyone anything unless mabey you put a dollar value on it.
You know devide and conquer, thats how its been for my 50 yr in farming, and with all these guys getting ready to rival G M or Ford I dont expect to see any change.

Rockpile, line 150 just exists. Like are
we gonna pretend the government can't
                'see' that line?

Gross margin means almost nothing other
                than directly proportional to arrogance
and ego and misguided self importance.

Whaddaya mean who am I talking about? Farm
net income. Not gross. Not any subsidies.
Money made from the land. Net. Particularly
                    Quebec. Pars.
