    Supermanitiss..... caution!!

A very serious condition has befallen some local farmers. It all started last year when this area had a perfect 25 straight day seeding window, good rains in July follwed by a wide open dry fall. These certain coditons only show up one in 30 years but alas some fell into the trap of supermanitiss. Yes the condition that puffs out a mans chest and causes swell of the brain at times of auctions sales and mid winter land grabs. Causes one to think the whole world is for his takeing. The mental state causes one to think that you can make money at any cash rent and to bid up everyone in the proccess. For some strange reason supermanitiss can not predict weather and researchers are working on the problem as the farmers in this area are scrambling to get all those extra high priced rented acres in the ground before the mid June crop insurance deadlines.
This condition seems to be confined to the north west and a select few, very strange and scary outbreak, so watch out for it!!!

    That condition is found everywhere,not
just the northwest. Just wish the
government would stop bailing it out.

And one of the cures for Supermanitiss is to limit (or cease altogether) government welfare, bailouts, subsidies and co payments to a base level of no greater than the average payment provided by government to that industry.
Instead limits are removed and we'll end up with more near monopolies; and a "farmer" on every township or so.

Tough to prevent all that testosterone damage but the cure is bankruptcy auction sale.

Rumour that feds are going to cancel agristability. That should help weedout the incompetent and greedy.

Cancelling agristability would be the best thing that this Harper government could do for agriculture.

A stupid program from the start...frustrating, cumbersome, unfair, costly and mostly unworkeable except for the civil servants and accountants who benefited the most.

Putting lawyers and accountants in charge of what is basically an insurance program assures chaos and cross-purpose. The government wants to be seen as doing something but hopes that it will never have to pay out any money and if they do they work any angle to claw it back.

I also vote to cancel agristability. All
it does is raise input cost for those
trying to make an honest living by
funding the one earths and the like.
Would also reduce accounting costs. Can
                    it now please!!

Superman was known for his ability to leap tall
buildings, not for his memory. Countless
Saskatchewan grain farmers owe their wealth and
farms existence to the Canadian taxpayer. Many have
                      forgot.

I prefered agristability over crop insurance. One reason is crop ins. will tell you what you can and cannot do. Agristability premium was cheap but hard to get over giving so much money to the hot shot accounting firm. All the programs really do need a payments cap to riegn in the Supermanitiss. And possibly no more gov't monies. The big farming units especially when into the 4000 acre plus should really be carrying their own wieght in an insurance program. Not saying smaller ones should also. On the part of paying taxes blah blah I am sure the money could go to much better uses.

I mean we should all carry our weight in the insurance programs. If we had to pay this money back would we be taking it?
