    fly out to Ukraine today

We fly out to Ukraine later today. We could be
    there up to 8 weeks.

With the trip coming up it put a little extra fire
under my bum and we put in some longer
hours and started seeding earlier this year. I
dont think we would have as much seeded if we
were not going on this trip.

Got about 90% seeded and 60% of our crop
    sprayed.

A little nervous to be away from the farm for so
long. My dad never ran the high clearance
sprayer until last week but I think he will do
    fine.
Have a few nabours and friends who will give a
hand if my dad needs some help. We did some
rolling and seed cleaning in exchange for other
work if we need some help when we are gone.

We are really looking forward to hopefully
    adopting the children.

It will be interesting to see the crops and
farming in Ukraine. I will take some video and
photos and post them on You tube if possible.

If any one is interested you can follow our trip
    on the blog below.

Good luck with your journey and bringing the
children home. From my time there, Ukraine is a
beautiful country with great ordinary people and a lot
like Canada in many ways (our heritage in many
cases). You will be there for Euro Cup 2012
(European soccer tournament) so things will be crazy.
Ukrainians are passionate about their football (read
soccer) so will be a fun time joining the festivities
with the locals. Likely a good time not to be in the
    big cities.

I don't know if you are aware but the Canadian
embassy in Kiev used to have a pizza/beer night
every second Friday (you pay for both to put taxpayer
concerns to rest). A opportunity for Canadian expats
to get together. Also a gathering point for others
who are trying to accomplish what you are and an
opportunity to compare notes. Worth checking out.

          Thanks Charlie

We will be in Kiev for a few days will have to
check it out if we are there on Friday.

We will be spending most of our time in
          Chervonohrad north of Lviv.

It will be busy with the Euro Cup. I think we will
be taking a train from Kiev to Lviv where some if
          the games will be played.

Hopper always told our kids" to never
judge a book by it's cover".This is coming
from a couple who had our 40th wedding
anniversary this year and only knew each
                      other 2 month's when married.

Good advice food4u, my parents married 3 months after first date. Celebrated 60 years in 2011!
Perhaps against the odds, but possible.

Food for me, you are correct. This post is not about me so I should shut up. I am happy for jags new family and look forward to hear about how things go. Really look forward. He is spending so much time in Ukraine. Not many farmers can effectively take time away from the farm.

Hopper, happy wife- happy life. Been married 41
                              years, no problem.

                              I should maybe say, "yet".

Seems the trend is to fly alone, but I am scared
                              of heights, LOL
