Acreage will be lower than last year
with the heavy rain two weeks ago taking
out some that was already seeded.
Sloughs getting bigger. Funny the one we
didnt get seeded this year in 2004 was
164 Acres (I have the road allowance)
now all that is left is a 120 acres at
best rest is under a foot of water.
But the one thing this year is its
pockets. 10 miles west its end to end
but north of us its the end!
Well bring on the summer this one needs
a long fall to make it.

Oh yea on the positive side. Remember the
years before direct seeding, Yesterdays
wind reminded me of that. We all would
have been complaining today how our canola
got cut off and now we have to replant.
No dust blowing since last SMF guy is
gone! 100% seeded (ok except the few
fields no one can get to)

3/4 of an inch fell here yesterday morning and
more radar blotches are on their way this morning.

Thanks I had both drills and the sprayer
stuck two days ago within minuets of each
other so go F$%$ a duck your self!
Its a fricking shit show and bring back
the normal weather pattern is all I am

You said it SF3. With these winds the last couple days the air used to be black with dirt. What a change with zero till and direct seed.

As much as I complain about the excess
moisture, the direct seeding still works.

The more tillage the faster the crop growth here. At least fall tillage.
Blacker makes warmer soil. Very noticeable this year.
Direct is still a mud show even today.
Depends on soil type of course.

The crops here seeded into tilled ground are on fire. I think tillage is going to be back in style.

Our fields that were kelly harrowed are up
nice. HRS on two and Canola on three. But
their are three that are canola that the
rain event and timing did not work so
good. Lots of issues on those three.

You may want to demo a salford before you buy a
kelly,although I've never seen or used a kelly.

I love my salford and the sask rep seems real good to
work with.

Should note vertical tillage machines replace heavy
harrows and double disks and cultivators.
