    U.S. Corn Yields Overstated?

USDA have their corn yield estimate
pegged right now at 166 bu/acre. This
would suggest a monster American crop.

    But University of Illinois yesterday
    came out at 161.4 bu/yield . . . a huge
    difference.

Next week is USDA report. Providing
world financials don't fall apart, corn
    price rebound?

A lot of that crop was planted very early this year,
and had to contend with cold tempertures in April. I
wondered if that could stunt the corn crop averages
    alone, nevermind the dry areas.

silverback . . . talk of Brazil running
out of beans, also 'risk on' day as ECB
is hinting that U.S. and China will
        provide stimulus soon. QE3?

        Gold breaks 50-day moving average.

Predicting record corn yield at the start
of a season is just stupid and those
responsible should be fired. Then they
could work for environment Canada who
also suck at their job. Lots of things
could happen this early so a more prudent
prediction would be closer to the mean.
But I guess they have to do their insider
trading so if they can move markets just
            a little.

talk that usda underestimated acres by 8
              million acres one commentator suggesting
10 million would this take up the slack
              to some degree?

See wheat yeilds are also forecast to be
              record high.

As i mentioned a few posts back us crops
live and die 4 times a year gloom and
doom but always come through with big
numbers maybe this year will be
              different.

And june is the critical month is it
              not?
