Beginning of Abstract:
Various readers have expressed concerns about verbose and detailed postings. This thread is intended to explore suggestions for possible preferred layouts that might best meet the approval, content details and general needs of different readers viewing articles on a variety of display devices.
End of Abstract
At this point it would be entirely appropriate for anyone to disconnect or move onto any other topic or site. And for those who do not object to having more than two sentences stored in their craniums at one time; it would then be possible to elaborate immediately thereafter.
Up until now I never thought about those tiny display screens on portable devices and cell phones. Bifocals and a page of writing just might be quite annoying to try to keep the reading lines flowing. On the other hand, I know people who don't mind reading a book of several hundred pages. As long as there is new material being presented; and the repitition is handled correctly; it is not unreasonable to use additional words as long as at least some people are following.
But if few are reading the Abstract or the more detailed comments and opinions that follow; then that is an entirely different story. And that requires a further adjustment by the writer; that doesn't necessarily need the approval of any readers.
Any comments about an "Abstract" and then "further expanation" only meant for those who wish to read further than the Abstract?
